Das Ferienhaus befindet sich am Vänern, 15 km nördlich der Seestadt Mariestad , auf einem etwa 1000 m2 großen Grundstück, 150 m vom See entfernt. Die leichte Hanglage bietet einen traumhaften Blick auf den Vänern. Dieser ist für seine Zander, Lachs und Barschbestände bekannt und beliebt. Das Haus bietet für 4 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder Platz. Im EG befinden sich Küche inkl. Abstellraum mit Waschmaschine, kleines Bad inkl. WC und Dusche, Schlafzimmer mit einem 1,40 m breiten Doppelbett, sowie Wohnzimmer mit Kamin und deutschem SAT TV. Im Obergeschoss gibt es einen Wohnbereich mit TV / Video ( Schweden TV), ein Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett und Kinderbett, sowie ein kleines Schlafzimmer mit 2 Einzelbetten. ( Bettwäsche/Handtücher werden standardmässig für einen Aufpreis von 100 SEK pro Person, gestellt. Am Haus befindet sich eine 80 m2 große Terrasse mit Terassenmöbeln und Sonnenliegen. Am nahegelegenen Sandstrand befinden sich ein Kinderspielplatz. Am benachbarten Campingplatz befinden sich Volleyballfeld und ein kleiner Fussballplatz.
Nur ca.5 Gehminuten vom Haus entfernt befindet sich eine kleine Marina sowie ein Restaurant und ein Kiosk. Das Restaurant "Brygghuset" liegt direkt neben der Torsöbron. Diese verbindet das Festland mit der größten Insel im Vänern, Torsö. Die Insel ist bekannt für ursprüngliche Natur mit Wanderwegen direkt am Seeufer, aber auch für Strände mit großen Klippen zum Verweilen und zum Sonnen. Auch bei Fahrradfahrern ist Torsö beliebt. Bis zum Zentrum nach Mariestad sind es ca. 20 Minuten mit dem Auto. Hier kann man durch die Altstadt bummeln, ins Museum gehen oder in einem der zahlreichen Restaurants am Hafen essen. Tagesreisen mit einem Boot auf dem Vänern können am Hafen gebucht werden. In der Umgebung befinden sich einigen hevorragende Ausflugsmöglichkeiten, z.B. den Tiveden Nationalpark in nordöstlicher Richtung, ca. 1 Stunde mit dem Auto entfernt, das Läckö Schloss und Lidköping, die Festungsanlage in Karlsborg und den Götekanal mit seinen zahlreichen Schleusen. Sjörtorp liegt am Götekanal und ist nur 20 Minuten entfernt, hier kann man mit dem Fahrrad direkt am Götekanal entlang fahren.
