It offers a good base for nature lovers and for those who like to spend a quiet vacation near good berry and edible mushroom deposits. In 7 km distance is a public bathing beach with jetty, this is located at the lake Långsjön and Åker. From Hillerstorp you can hike in the Store Mosse National Park. It is the largest marshland in Sweden and is 18 km away. In this context, a visit to the Naturum is obvious, you can watch birds through huge panoramic windows. In Värnamo, 20 km from the cottage, is the Vandalorum art museum and a good restaurant for lunch. You can also do good shopping there. However, more choice can be found in Jönköping, 57 km away. Not far from Jönköping is also the nice town of Gränna, home of famous candy canes.
