The Cabin on the Hill features cottage style furnishings with a rustic twist. The flooring is a sustainable art paper floor featuring inlaid fall leaves from the property. Originally built by and home to a young Amish couple that moved to Minnesota with their growing family; we had the cabin moved to our farm on the foot of "the big hill" back in 2005 when we updated it to have electricity, appliances running water. We have an on-demand hot water system for limitless hot water, so feel free to fill the footed slipper tub and relax in the hot spring water or shower off after a day of hiking and then kick back in the oversized chair, the round cuddle couch, or the recliner in front of one of the electric fireplaces. Enjoy the remarkable sunsets overlooking Laurel Run Canyon from the top of the Big Hill. Enjoy the night sky, even the Milky Way, like through the veil of darkness only found in the remote night skies. Relax in front of the gas fire pit or slip into the hot tub for a relaxing soak. Eric and Brenda have four daughters and a son along with eight grandchildren. Brenda and Eric enjoy the outdoors and especially likes to fish, hike and harvest wild edibles, including wild berries and morel mushrooms. Brenda enjoys working with stained glass and likes to design new and unique things. She enjoys repurposing materials and using natural materials from her environment in her projects. She is an avid researcher and likes to find different and natural ways of tackling ordinary issues. Eric is a Marine Corps veteran, and his day job is an IT Professional. Eric enjoys farming and jumped at the opportunity to return to the region in the early 2000s. The Cabin on the Hill opened in 2017 and has over 5-star reviews over platforms. The Cabin by the Pond opened in 2022 and also has exceptional reviews.

Located in Southeastern Ohio, we are only a few short miles to the Hocking Hills State Park which is a national and internationally acclaimed State Park which is stunning in every season with its wildflowers, vivid fall foliage, beautiful towering cliffs, thrilling waterfalls, and deep, hemlock-shaded gorges. Also visit Old Man's Cave, Cantwell Cliffs, Conkle's Hollow, Ash Cave and so many other parks are within a short drive of the property. You can also horseback ride within 1 mile from the property at the Spotted Horse Ranch or visit a petting zoo with Zonkies, Camels and so much more. Or you might enjoy visiting the Jack Pine Glass Artist Studio for live demonstrations or even go on a zipline canopy tour or a canoe trip. There are so many things to do in this area of Ohio!
