Garth Woodside Mansion Bed and Breakfast provides air-conditioned rooms in Hannibal. Providing free private parking, the 4-star bed and breakfast is 41 km from Oakley-Lindsay Center. Each room includes a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Certain units in the bed and breakfast have private entrance and are fitted with desk and wardrobe. John & Julie met in 1976 when he was on a temporary duty (TDY) trip with the Air Force in Grand Rapids, Michigan, near my hometown. A few years later I took John to Reno and before he knew it we were married. There after each time we moved to another assignment with the Air Force relatives and friends came to visit. I loved having company, and John loved me cleaning the house before they arrived. I hate housework with a passion (this is great being here with a super staff to pick up behind me!). Over the years we moved around the country. By the late 1990’s we realized it was getting close to finding a place to retire and staying put, whatever that meant. We discussed for years the ideas of running a Bed and Breakfast. So we started seriously searching for a B&B. There are enough on each coast and we wanted to be different. We love the Midwest and found that the Garth Woodside Mansion was available, lock, stock and barrel, as a turnkey. We drove to Hannibal, MO to check it out. We immediately fell in love with the place; ok, not IMMEDIATELY, but after two days I had to have it and here we are. This is the longest we have ever lived in one spot!

The entire first floor of our Missouri bed and breakfast has been restored, not renovated, back to its 1870’s splendor. The wallpapers have been most recently custom made for the home, and several of the original pieces the Garth's entered into the house are still here for your enjoyment. All four seasons bring a different light to the inn, and each one is more grand than the previous. Gardens are open for your enjoyment as well as the paths throughout the estate.
