Enter our pet-free home through the front door into our mud room, with slippers & thongs available for your use, and closets to hang your overcoats.
Then enter our Event Room/Living Room which you can share with other guests at no charge, or book for a party, meeting, or other event (ask for availability).
Cross the Event Room and go up the stairs to your room (which is straight ahead) and/or kitchenette (just to the left of the top of the stairs) available for your use, with hot water boiler, toaster, microwave, and other appliances like rice cooker, blender, nut and bean milk maker, slow cooker, etc. available for your use upon request.
Fridge is turned on for long-term guests, but ice is available any time 8:30am-11pm upon request.
Your room has an overhead light and ceiling fan, closets for storage, and private nearby bathroom with toilet, shower bath and a HUGE Double sink and counter that can easily double as a baby change table.
The HUGE, nearly 600sq.ft bedroom has three massive banks of windows (with vertical blinds for privacy-- not that you need them, surrounded by 30 acres of woods as we are) to provide a panoramic view of the lawns and forest outside.
Nearly every day you'll see deer and a multitude of small animals, and turkey and fox on occasion.
Take walks on our miles of paths, driveways and private roads, and pick wild cherries, blackberries, walnuts and acorns in season.
County parks and playgrounds are within a 2 mile drive of the house, and shopping district and Mall are only 5-10 minutes away.
Delta River Drive has been designated a SCENIC ROAD and nearby Ingersoll and Webster Roads are also quite scenic-- and lead to nearby I-69, I-96, and I-496 for easy access in and out of Lansing.
The nearby lovely Lansing Old Town, and the towns of Grand Ledge and DeWitt are only a 10 minute drive, and St. Johns, East Lansing (with Michigan State University), Eagle, Owosso and other towns are only 30 or 45 minutes-- each with many festivals, activities.
Spent SEVEN (7) Years at MSU putting myself through college working at John Bean and Oldsmobile, getting a B.S. (Math) and two Masters (Physics and Electrical Engineering), was wined and dined on both Coasts for jobs, ditched all my offers and started selling Frank Frazetta (Conan, Tarzan, Death Dealer) and HOBBIT/LORD OF THE RINGS Art Prints all over the World!
Still do.
My wife, AiQin ("Chin") was a primary school teacher in China for nearly twenty years before she met me in Australia. We married in 2013, she moved here, and now works as a massage therapist here in town.
To reach us, turn N on Trillium Dr, just off Delta River Dr., and fork immediately to the right. You'll travel a 1/4mi driveway through the woods filled with deer, turkey and a multitude of small wildlife (but drive SLOWLY-- Deer are SUICIDAL!) We're right in the middle of 30 acres of woods, with many paths you're welcome to explore-- see all the animals and pick berries and nuts in season.
We have a small stream running through the property, with lots of frogs and small fish for the kids to play with, and the nearby Grand River for some serious fishing.
We have a huge front deck and barbeque you're welcome to share, and THREE HUGE grassy yards with badminton, croquet, lawn darts, volleyball and other sports to play-- and a concrete half basketball court to play on (and we have the equipment to lend)!
In the winter, we have TONS of paths, driveways and private roads to cross-country ski-- and (antique but useable) equipment to lend! And even a gentle hill for young kids to sled on!
The house itself has been a local landmark for decades and lends itself to lots of non-commercial photo opportunities you're welcome to take.
