I have been already here recently and the experience had been much worse. The night staff this time was highly competent, smart and willing to help, which was not the case with my last stay. I believe that the guy that welcomed us upon check-in (and that was at the desk at night for the next few days) deserves a career upgrade.
I had coffee machine in the room, so that I could have breakfast in the room before leaving, just had to stop by once at a supermarket to buy cookies and milk.

Location was excellent. Staff was helpful, but didn’t know a whole lot about the area. We would’ve liked to of had coffee service every morning, and also filtered water for no charge.
Telephone was not functioning and there could be more outlets for charging laptops, etc. N

Alexandria appeared to be a small and safe city with a relaxing vibe right outside of Washington, D.C. We spent most of our time touring D.C. Staying in Alexandria allowed us to stay in a relaxing place after spending tourist time in the hustle and bustle of a metropolitan city.

Alexandria is one of my favorite places to visit!
Alexandria is one of my favorite places to visit! It's set up to be friendly to tourists, but it doesn't feel kitschy or fake. There are a lot of independent local shops and wonderful restaurants. I didn't have a single bad meal the entire time I was there, and most of the restaurants have outdoor seating, including with heat and covering in poor weather. The Torpedo Factory art center is incredible! Alexandria is also very walkable, though the brick pavement is a little uneven, and public transit is free. I've visited three or four times now and plan to go back often!

Overall the stay was good.
Overall the stay was good. Parking may be a bit difficult during heavy traffic however aside from my time of arrival I did not park until after midnight each day and was able to easily get a spot just a few steps away.
The backyard seemed nice but since it was winter and snowed during my stay I didn't not utilize the yard.
The house was clean and everything functioned as expected. When staying at a private property there's typically a welcome note that points out some key things, this property did not have that.
My communication with the property management was easy and my questions were answered quickly.
Since my trip was to attend an event at the National Harbor I do not have anything to add about Alexandria as a destination.

We stayed here because we drove and they offered free parking on site. Since Sept. 1, parking is $10 per night, still not bad compared to most hotels offering no parking at all. The Metro is about 3 blocks down Eisenhower Blvd and efficiently gets one to DC primary locations. We ate at a Bison Grill in a center across from the Metro station...pricey but good. Hotel food is minimal. We didn't explore Alexandria itself. Location was more reasonable for access to DC highlights. Would use it again..

The front desk staff and the manager were absolutely wonderful and extremely helpful in trying to make sure I was comfortable. I needed a handicap room which wasn't on my reservation, and they made sure that I got one.
They make fresh baked cookies that you can smell while they are baking in the evening which was an absolute wonderful touch.
The room was clean and comfortable with a refrigerator and microwave.
I must say it was a really comfortable room and I wish I could have enjoyed it for another couple days, but I will look forward to returning.

Old Town/riverfront area was fantastic.
Old Town/riverfront area was fantastic. Never even knew it existed before this. Great bars, restaurants, nice waterfront park, lots of happy pleasant people out & about. Ate at Barca twice, excellent Catalonian themed menu. The garlic scallops are to die for. Went with a buddy who had a medical appointment & made a weekend of it. We want to go back soon.
The first thing on entering was the genuine smile of the front desk staffer as he was assisting another guest and he was the same with me, felt very welcomed. Neat, clean, modern decor. The convenience shop is the best of hotels where I have stayed, really great with wine & beer selections as well. Loved the room colors & dark wood, wood vanity in bathroom. The bed, covers, and pillows were so comfortable. There was an automatic connection to WiFi, no codes to enter. It was SO convenient to Old Town Alexandria & reasonable price.
Staff went out of their way to make this stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The room was very clean.
Excellent breakfast. The free shuttle service of up to one mile from the hotel was enjoyed. We were able to get a ride to restaurants, shopping, and sight- seeing in downtown Alexandria.
Staff members: Chrystal, Mario, Mohammed, and Mr. Molo went out of their way to provide an enjoyable stay at Residence Inn Duke Street in Alexandria. All of the staff were very professional, courteous, and caring.
Food service is minimal. We ate only one time ...a simple quesadea and a blt sandwich was over 30.
Staff is very helpful. As of Sept 1, they now charge $10 a night to park in their lot. I reserved the room well before that time and will not have to pay the new parkinf fee.
Hotel is very quiet in rooms facing the street. Rooms to the rear will hear traffic noise off the interstate and tangle of highways directly in back.
I always stay here when I'm visiting in the Mt. Vernon area. From the outside this hotel is very unassuming as it is older than the big newer hotels that have been built nearby, but inside the rooms are spacious and well decorated, the staff are unfailingly helpful and pleasant, and the price is right. The breakfast is good and the breakfast room is huge so you never have an issue with finding a table.
Great location in downtown old town Alexandria; easy walking and public transport, and plenty of diverse food options and local attractions close by. The apartment (room 205) was comfortable, clean, safe and fine - though facilities were available we did not do any cooking; but enjoyed the good coffee and tea. We enjoyed being able to open the windows (somewhat) and the very comfortable bed.
We were travelling so the location was good. Close to the higway and the center of Alexandria offer moltiple restaurants. The hotel is close.by a walking area with nice bars and fancy places. The atrucyure has his own age and the breakfast a la carte is not really an interesting offer as usually it is in other holiday inn with the traditional buffet.
The staff and service were wonderful! We stayed for a week and enjoyed how thoughtful and courteous the staff was. The hotel overall was clean and modern, and I’d stay there again. It’s in a great location, walking distance to anything you might need or just exploring Old Town.
Location and price. Great easy uber ride to DC and Old Town Alexandria waterfront. Free trolley stops in front of hotel. Continental breakfast is better than most budget freindly accommodations. Staff had us in the room early and was greatly appreciated. Will stay again.
The Westin is located a short walk from the Old Town WMATA transit station. There are a bunch of shops and restaurants in the area. The hotel/rooms are spotless and the staff is courteous. The food provided through the conference I attended was plentiful and tasty.
The location is superb, just within a walk to King Street Old Town, Waterfront, and all Alexandria attractions. The property is also decorated very well. It has a fridge, air fryer, and microwave. Free parking is also helpful!
Location! Right next to the Metro and the free buses/trams to explore Alexandria Old Town. Paid carpark is just underneath the hotel.
Very convenient to travel into Washington DC via public transport.
Great comfy rooms too.
Very nice place!
I was really happy to see coffee machine and coffee ready to use!
Few minutes walk to the metro, similar distance to the center of Alexandria.
Great owner, quickly responding on every message.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton. The hotel was very clean, the staff were wonderful, and the location was perfect to Old Town and Washington, DC. The parking was convenient, and the breakfast was great.
the hotel and our room was super clean. the location is minutes from the main street in Old Town, two blocks from Whole Foods, no car needed to explore Alexandria Waterfront and Old Town.
