Welcome to Altamont Lodge! This sprawling rustic, yet elegant, authentic 5 bedroom, 3-1/2 bathroom mountain Lodge features nearly 5,000 square feet of living space, 2 kitchens, a pool table, bar, firepit, and more on five acres of rolling hills providing ample space to explore and relax. With beautiful long range mountain views and no other homes within sight, you will feel private and secluded, while enjoying proximity to all the popular towns. Altamont Lodge provides a unique authentic experience as it was constructed using reclaimed 100+ year old timbers from log cabins in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and consists of a large 4 bedroom, 3 bath main house with a colonnade connecting it to a two bedroom, one bath guest cabin. The guest cabin portion of the Lodge is an original 100+ year old Tennessee cabin which was disassembled, reconstructed and restored to its primitive beauty. The home has central heat and two fireplaces. One fireplace is woodburning, and the other is gas. It does not have air conditioning, which most people are used to; however, the climate in Avery County tends to be cooler in the summer.
Hi! We are Dustin & Lisa Gardner and are happy that you've chosen to explore Altamont Lodge! We are both native to Mitchell County, NC and live just 10 minutes away from the lodge. We are helping the property owners, Lee & Bess Allen, from Charleston, SC, by co-hosting their property with them. We hope that we can provide you with a unique, at home and personal experience during your stay. Our goal is to give you a rustic, tranquil, enjoyable experience in our NC mountain lodge.
We are located central to all popular mountain towns! We’re just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Falls, the Linville Falls Winery, a general store and restaurants, also minutes from Spruce Pine and a scenic 30 miles to Beech Mountain, Blowing Rock and Boone. This area offers so much in the way of entertainment - skiing, wineries, waterfalls, hiking trails, fishing, antiques shopping, gem mines, fabulous eateries, and gorgeous mountain views!
