Company info

Jacques and Sam were award winning journalists for over 20 years but changed direction two years ago and bought the old building which was lovingly renovated. Jacques now designs the menu, cooks and sources the valley's brilliant produce. Sam is front of house and is always here to make sure your stay is perfect! We love our dogs, our home and giving guests not just a great stay but a memorable experience.

"This is no ordinary restaurant, bar and guest house. Mexican angels live here. So does a huge chairman Mao. It is a captivating place. Lots of yum right here...simple comfort food, slow-cooked, very South African, stylishly presented...The coolest country spot outside Cape Town." - Country Life, October 2016. All five bedrooms are luxuriously appointed with their own patios and bathrooms. They all have roof fans and are airconditioned. Four of the rooms are centred around a relaxing lounge with fireplace and are separated from the manor house and restaurant/bar. This makes it an ideal spot for groups or wedding entourages.

Riebeek Kasteel is a quaint little village just an hour from Cape Town. Its surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Wine from the area is some of the best and most sought after in the country. Its residents are quirky, artistic and laid back. Fabulous clothing shops, restaurants, galleries and bars are a huge hit with our tourist clientele.
