We had an lovely time in Tulbagh, thanks to Mirna and her kindness. She upgraded us to the chalet overlooking the field and even arranged to have breakfast served 1h earlier than scheduled. The accommodations are beautiful, roomy, decorated with taste. The pool was so welcomed under the heat of early summer. A short drive to downtown Tulbagh, the place is like heaven on Earth. We will most definitely come back

A great stop-over for people who enjoy vintage architecture, wine and art.
This is an historical small town in a beautiful valley where wine farming is the principal activity - there are lots of cellar tours and wine tasting on various farms in the vicinity as well as a good selection of antique, fine art and museums in the town which can be visited / browsed. Public transport in the region is non-existent, so a rental car is required to get there and to get around.

The only highlight in Tulbagh during this time of Covid and lockdown is the Kole & Deeg restaurant. The town of Tulbagh has deteriorated to the extent that we will most likely not return again in the foreseeable future. Very very sad. I feel very sorry for the small business, guest houses, etc in town. If the local municipality don't get their act together very few tourists will return. Unfortunately for us all the wine estates were also closed due to Covid regulations Compared to Riebeeck Kasteel is like chalk and cheese

We found Tulbagh a charming and interesting town.
We found Tulbagh a charming and interesting town. Unfortunately, we didn't visit any wine farms this time around, due to the national ban on alcohol sales during the time of the Coronavirus pandemic, but we will return again soon to experience some of the fine wines of the region. We would also be interested in learning more about the nature of social change and what is being done to improve the lives of farm labourers and their families in this beautiful part of South Africa

Great wine farms and a charming Cape Dutch heritage town. Had a great wine tasting experience at Twee Jongezellen and Saronsberg wine estates. Lovely and affordable dinner on the stoep at the Tulbagh Hotel.

Small little town with beautiful surrounding views. Not too much to do there except some wine tasting at the nearby wine farms. A definite place to stay over for nature lovers. Truly a beautiful part of the Western Cape.
