To be honest, Port Elizabeth is not what it has been in the past. The promenade had plenty of broken bricks, and none was replaced. Electric cabling visible along the promenade. Lack of maintenance clearly visible. Good restaurants right on the beach

I am from Port Elizabeth.
I am from Port Elizabeth. This was my first visit back after about 13 years. The city is filthy. The lack of maintenance is very obvious. Don’t come to visit Port Elizabeth. Fly in and travel to the game reserves or along the coast to Tsitsikamma.

PE is an underrated travel destination, the city is friendly and grounded - with rugged natural beauty, great food and wonderful nature adventure spots. I did the Van Stadens Flower Trail, which was excellent!

Port Elizabeth is such a small place but beautiful.
Port Elizabeth is such a small place but beautiful. The weather there is windy and it changes in the midst of the day. It has beautiful spaces and people know each other there. They’re kind and friendly.

A colonial style hotel. I can’t single out any of the staff as they were all very good. Big rooms and a splendid balcony. Also, a superb bathroom with an excellent shower and the option of a deep bath if that’s your preference. The room servicing was immaculate The food was outstanding. I was on my own in the dining room each night yet the food was as good as any I’ve enjoyed over the years and I have now reached old git status. Sincerely, one of the loveliest hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
The room, service, food, facilities were all exceptional. We booked the presidents suite which was beautifully appointed. Gail, the owner, recommended a fantastic restaurant for our evening meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. The morning after we had breakfast, the menu service and food quality was outstanding. My wife and I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone staying in Port Elizabeth
The most friendly and helpful staff, made us feel very welcome. The room was nice and clean , nice facilities overall, we didn’t get to use much as we only stayed one night. The location is great, a short walk to the beach and shopping centre.
If we ever return to Port Elizabeth, we’ll definitely try to book this hotel.
Great little boutique hotel. Perfect location for access to Summerstrand beachfront. Large spacious and well appointed room. Fantastic art throughout the building. Staff and food were superb.
