Relax in a very laid-back home-stay, situated in a beautiful forest environment next to a dam only 70km from the northern (less touristy!) end of the Kruger National Park. Great for hiking, fishing, or as a base for exploring the fascinating culture and art of the VhaVenda and XiTsonga people. Breakfast is included, and other meals can be provided if you don't want to self-cater, the cost dependent on your preferences. Our family includes Thina our handyman, Wani our cook and housekeeper, and 3 very friendly (and spoiled!) dogs.
Hi! I am a 60's era aging lesbian hippy, recently widowed and living with my 3 spoiled dogs in the Land of Legend, home to the people of Venda just south of the Limpopo River. Born in Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania) of English parents I lived in South Africa, Hong Kong, Zimbabwe, England and Seychelles, before accepting a job in Venda, where I intended to stay for just 3 years.... that was in 1982!!
From the R523, near the top of the mountain, there is a very wide dirt road heading east (towards the dam) and steeply upwards. A short distance along that road, you reach a gate of Tshivhase Nature Reserve with guards. Tell them you are visiting Fiona and they will direct you.
