Emblematic of the “cliff aloe”, Candelabra Cottage is a stilted chalet nestled within a sequestered indigenous forest, perched on a hilltop a stunning view that overlooks the Cintsa lagoon. Thus far, over 110 indigenous, exotic and cultivated plant have been identified on the sprawling property- including its namesake, the Candelabra aloe, rose geraniums, traveller’s palms, orange jasmine, calla lilies, scarlet sage and night-blooming jasmine. Endemic butterflies and birds with colorful beaks flutter around verdant sanctuary. Vervet monkeys “monkey around” the premises throughout the year. If you happen to stay at Candelabra Cottage between December throughout May, you’ll definitely see families of vervet monkeys with newly born offspring. The cottage is, specifically, designed as a small studio fitted with a queen size bed, bathroom and shower, and a kitchenette that consists of a stove top, microwave and refrigerator. Moreover, the cottage faces south with glass sliding doors that allow plenty of natural light. And, off course, there’s the terrace which is furnished with outdoor furniture to relax and marvel at the view from over and above. There is also a braai/grill stand upon request. Then, there’s the beach which is just a few minutes leisurely walk away or few seconds drive down the street. During low tide, you can walk across the beach between Cintsa East and Cintsa West.

I am a very outgoing, energetic academic who loves reading, traveling, nature and food. I enjoy socializing and sharing travel experiences. I will socialize with my guests but I prefer to give them their own space.
