Excellent all around. Great location with lovely views of the mountains, access to trails from hotel and short drive to Grossglockner trail. Beautiful building, large, comfortable, clean and modern room, great bed and excellent whirlpool, saunas (3) and relaxation/cool down area. Self serve meals (except main course at dinner) with a great variety of fruits, vegetables, salads, breads, etc. Free coffee (expresso, capachino, etc). Self serve (honour system) alcoholic beverages, good selection and very reasonable prices. A rare jem and an amazing value! Do not hesitate to stay here

Fantastic location in a little hamlet up the valley from Kals with a great array of mountain walking routes available right from the door of the hotel. The hotel is a little dated but the facilities are excellent and our room was large and very comfortable with a lovely outlook onto a green pasture and mountains and so cool and quiet with just the sound of the nearby river in the distance - we slept so well! Excellent breakfast and dinners with friendly service. Christoph helped us with lots of great suggestions for our walks. And they really look after walkers here - lending us a water bottle and maps for the duration of our stay - what a great service which was so much appreciated. At the end of our stay I didn't want to leave - there was such a great feeling of homely comfort

Perfect location for skiers, just in front of the cable car station which takes you to the altitude of 2600 m, so you can ski on the fresh powder even in March. Hotel is furnished in a cozy village style. Sauna and swimming pool included in the price. Nice food.

Hotel Rauter is a wonderful example of old-school hospitality in the best possible sense. The moment you enter the lobby, it feels like a proper hotel: beautiful, atmospheric, full of character and exceptionally well maintained. I learned from the owner that the hotel has been in the same family for 12 generations, since the 1600s, and somehow you can genuinely feel that history, care and pride throughout the entire place. The spa facilities are excellent, with indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam bath, infrared sauna and relaxation areas, all beautifully maintained and with fantastic mountain views. Breakfast is equally impressive, with a huge choice and an extraordinary amount of attention to detail. Most importantly, the staff are genuinely helpful and welcoming. I’ve stayed here twice now, and for the price this hotel offers exceptional value. There may be newer or more luxurious hotels, but very few have this much character, warmth and genuine hospitality.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, they gave us advices on where to eat as most of the restaurants in the area were fully booked or closed as it was Christmas. The breakfast at the accommodation was great, the rooms were spacious and warm as well as the elevator. There is also an electric charger for the car and a locker for the skiing equipment.

Lovely place surrounded by mountains. All the staff working were lovely. Was easy to store luggage. Breakfast had a great selection. Bus stops right outside the hotel.

We had a great stay at Hotel Schlosswirt. The building is beautiful and had a lovely charm to it. The host Christian was very kind and spoke great English, giving us recommendations for where to eat dinner - his dog was lovely too! Our room was very cosy and we instantly felt relaxed - the view of the valley was gorgeous. The pool was just what we needed after a long day’s walking and we enjoyed the outdoor seating where we could take in the breathtaking scenery. The breakfast was also nice, and checkout was easy.
