This is an excellent place to base yourself and explore Basel. The staff were outstanding... professional,friendly and helpful. They provided tips about where to go and how to get there. The room was immaculate. They are small, but perfectly formed to provide everything you need for a comfortable and quiet stay. Breakfast was enjoyable and the garden area perfect for relaxing.

Beautiful hotel right on the Marktplatz. The staff were so kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast is very good but there are also many other places close by as well as the market most mornings. We loved it and would return any time.

Our stay at this hotel was truly wonderful. The location was perfect — we could reach everywhere very easily. The bus stop was right next to the hotel, and the tram was just as close. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Even though we checked out early in the morning, they kindly kept our luggage until the evening. The cleanliness was exceptional; everything smelled fresh and spotless. Before arriving, I had written a note requesting a city view and an extra blanket, and they paid great attention to all my requests. Even though we visited in winter, the room was warm, comfortable, and exactly what we needed. I really wish we could have stayed longer. It was an important and memorable experience for us, and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit. Their small treats and gestures were also very thoughtful. Thank you for everything!

This hotel offers ultimate luxury from start to finish. The style is traditional, everything is impeccably maintained, and the entire place is spotless. The staff were exceptional, always greeting us with a smile and being incredibly helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious, the cocktails were perfect, and the breakfast, cakes, and other treats were outstanding. Our room was extremely comfortable and very quiet. Every piece of furniture and every detail had clearly been thoughtfully considered and was in perfect condition. They provided robes, slippers, shoehorns, an umbrella, and more. The welcome treats included fresh fruit, chocolates, and a little Eurovision-themed cake. In the evenings, they tidied the room for turndown service, closed the curtains, and neatly arranged our belongings. The corridors were carpeted with a thick central runner, which meant we never heard anyone passing by, even though the hotel was fully booked. We were also given a jar of hotel jam to take away with us and we can't wait to try it. If you’re considering this hotel and can afford the price tag, you will not be disappointed. Book it.

- Really helpful, friendly and caring staff - Basel card as a compliment 😍 - For me personally the bed and the pillows were comfortable - I had a calm night and no one bothered me - Great location, Basel Bad and Basel SBB are within walking distance (if you like to walk as much as I do) - Tram stop nearby Yes, maybe minimalistic and no modern design, but I prefer less design and a decent sleep at night than modern hotels with horrible pillows where isn’t possible to have night rest.

Great location a few minutes walk from the Basel SBB and tram stops outside the hotel. Very comfortable bed and extra pillows available. Breakfast was wonderful with a good choice. I forgot to ask for gluten free bread.

It’a always a pleasure to stay here, in the hearth of Basel, very well served by public transport! I would likely much appreciate to get the traveler card online before the beginning of my trip for the dates I’ve reserved, so that from Basel SBB HB I can get to hotel without paying additional for the itinerary to hotel!

Location was excellent as it was very near to Basel SBB - easy access to and from city. Area was brightly lit. Hotel room was clean. A couple of good eateries inside the station for a quick bite and Markthalle (food court equivalent) was close by. Transport hub for trams and buses almost at doorstep of hotel to go to most tourist sites.

Literally steps from the Basel SBB station. We had a view of the front of the station from the room balcony. No worries about catching an early train. A friendly, clean and comfortable hotel for a good nights sleep and a good breakfast. Spacious room with a view and a good shower - and, oddly, an exercise bike in the room if you like that sort of thing. Perhaps a little dated now (including a highlight of a hilariously 1970s booklet about the hotel dragons) but spotless nevertheless.

The hotel is located between the Basel SBB station and the city centre where the main sights, restaurants and shops are located. All were a short walk away. The room was large and comfortable. The bed was also comfortable. The room was in a quiet location overlooking an internal courtyard and garden. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of hot and cold options. The staff were very professional and welcoming.
