The staff on the front desk were exceptional. They went out of their way to make us more comfortable after arriving from Berlin on the overnight train. The room was large and with a very cool and funky interior design. The breakfast was very good. The position is perfect for a short visit to Basel.

This hotel offers ultimate luxury from start to finish. The style is traditional, everything is impeccably maintained, and the entire place is spotless. The staff were exceptional, always greeting us with a smile and being incredibly helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious, the cocktails were perfect, and the breakfast, cakes, and other treats were outstanding. Our room was extremely comfortable and very quiet. Every piece of furniture and every detail had clearly been thoughtfully considered and was in perfect condition. They provided robes, slippers, shoehorns, an umbrella, and more. The welcome treats included fresh fruit, chocolates, and a little Eurovision-themed cake. In the evenings, they tidied the room for turndown service, closed the curtains, and neatly arranged our belongings. The corridors were carpeted with a thick central runner, which meant we never heard anyone passing by, even though the hotel was fully booked. We were also given a jar of hotel jam to take away with us and we can't wait to try it. If you’re considering this hotel and can afford the price tag, you will not be disappointed. Book it.

- Really helpful, friendly and caring staff - Basel card as a compliment 😍 - For me personally the bed and the pillows were comfortable - I had a calm night and no one bothered me - Great location, Basel Bad and Basel SBB are within walking distance (if you like to walk as much as I do) - Tram stop nearby Yes, maybe minimalistic and no modern design, but I prefer less design and a decent sleep at night than modern hotels with horrible pillows where isn’t possible to have night rest.

Location was excellent as it was very near to Basel SBB - easy access to and from city. Area was brightly lit. Hotel room was clean. A couple of good eateries inside the station for a quick bite and Markthalle (food court equivalent) was close by. Literally steps from the Basel SBB station. We had a view of the front of the station from the room balcony. No worries about catching an early train. A friendly, clean and comfortable hotel for a good nights sleep and a good breakfast. Spacious room with a view and a good shower - and, oddly, an exercise bike in the room if you like that sort of thing. Perhaps a little dated now (including a highlight of a hilariously 1970s booklet about the hotel dragons) but spotless nevertheless.
