Very unique setting, good location, friendly and accommodating staff

I really made the right choice with this homestay in Pingyao! The location is absolutely a hidden gem—just a two-minute walk gets you to Rishengchang Bank, so there’s no need to get up early to soak in the Jin merchant culture. It’s super convenient to head back for a break after visiting the attractions. What’s more, the surrounding area is bustling with life. When you stroll out in the evening, the lanterns light up, and old shops and street food stalls are right in front of you, full of that lively, authentic vibe. No need to hunt for places to eat; just step into any spot, and it’s sure to be delicious. The biggest surprise, though, is the service here—they truly take care of every little detail. When I checked in, the owner warmly introduced local attractions, even telling me which shop has the most authentic Pingyao beef and the best time to visit Rishengchang to avoid crowds. That kind of thoughtful care makes the whole trip feel so warm. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back to Pingyao. Great location, amazing atmosphere, and service that’s second to none—highly recommended!

The location was perfect—situated within the ancient town, but not on the busiest street, yet still just a short distance away. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated in an ancient style. There was no noise at night, allowing for a peaceful stay.

Excellent place for a stop at Pingyao, nice little Town full of treasures and joyfull people. The house is authentic with a very nice patio and antiques fournitures. Nice people welcoming you with smiles and presents… Near every inyterresting things but far enough to keep really quiet.

We had a wonderful stay at this guest house in Pingyao! The place was cozy, clean, and full of character — exactly what you’d hope for in such a historic town. Everyone was so nice and helpful; they went out of their way to make sure we felt at home and had everything we needed. They gave great recommendations for local restaurants and things to see, and even organized transportation. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — I’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Pingyao!

The employees were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and in good working order. The local recommendations were useful and the hotel was beautiful.

Everything! The room is so beautiful I felt like a queen! The place is clean and the bed is comfortable. It's also so peaceful at night,I had the best sleep. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, they speak little English but they go above and beyond to help. The hotel also organised a free pickup both ways from the station. I really appreciated this as the old town is about 15 min by car and I think cars that don't have a permit wouldn't be allowed to enter inside the walled area,whereas their car could take me very close to the hotel. I will really recommend this place to my friends and anyone!

Wonderful hotel, calm and relaxing athmosphere. Historic building, every detail fits and the staff is very attentive and very friendly. Hotel offers a pick up service from the railway station, which I recommend - no cars allowed in the city. Hotel staff will then arrive and transport your bags to the hotel.
