We spent a day in the Castle, went through St. Vitus Cathedral, which is on the Castle grounds. HUGE Cathedral with a lot of different tours, all of which we took. Lots of things to see on the grounds and well worth spending at least a half-day there.

About a 10 minute walk upto the castle from our hotel. There are a lot of steps to climb on the way to the top, but plenty of pit stops on way if you need one. It is probably a good idea to pre-book your time & tickets to enter the Cathedral up there. It was very crowded at 12.pm when we got there & waited about 30 minutes before we could enter. There's a fantastic medieval pub on the way back down the steps to the right of the castle, dates back to 1600's and well worth a stop off for a beer.

A beautiful experience to wander about the castle grounds.
A beautiful experience to wander about the castle grounds. The palace was wonderful. The ceiling detail truly incredible.
The Golden Lane was a picturesque street of colourful houses inside the grounds castle. A look at modest dwellings of a goldsmith and others, and above the dwellings, a magnificant collection of knight's armour.
St. Vitus Cathedral was stunning. An amazing work of art in every sense of the word. And there was just so much to see. Simply amazing.
These are just a few of the highlight from the Castle.
Tip: buy the map of the castle if you are tourning on your own.

Buy the no line ticket. It was a breeze to get in. The cathedral was packed but we just strolled the gardens and came back in the afternoon and got right in. The views back at the castle and of the city from the summer palace are Exquisite. Lots of uneven walking so wear comfy shoes.

visit the church first, we got there before it opens at 9am, but it was not ready to open so we see other sights, it is a big mistake, too many people by the time we got there. the church is worth seeing, grand. the gallery is boring, waste of money. eat at the cafe at the palace garden, less people, free toilet, good food. We bought a tickets that covered the whole palace, which is not worthy. Art gallery has nobody, very few paintings. the military parade is worth seeing. Get there by bus, so you don't have to climb uphill, save energy for the rest of the day.

The cashier selling tickets must be one of the rudest and most unhelpful I've ever come across. She may not like her job but there's no need to treat customers like a piece of dirt on her shoe. Quite upset me and spoilt what would otherwise have been a good day out.

Hotel Petr was a fantastic, no-frills choice for our stay in Prague. It is on a quiet side street yet close to a tram stop. Within a few minutes you can reach Prague Castle to the north. The room was very clean, fairly large, and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was good and included in the price we paid.
Friendly welcome. Delicious breakfast. Delightful afternoon teas on the roof deck. Wonderful quiet and easy location for walking to many sights including Petrin Tower, Prague Castle and Old Town. Close proximity to some really good restaurants.
The location is excellent as it’s just around the corner for the main bridge and 10-15 minute walk to Prague Castle. Trams stop right out front. It has a lift so we couldn’t easily get up to our floor. Our apartment was huge and beautiful. Full kitchen including stove, oven, plates, coffee maker, hot water kettle, etc. Housekeeper cleans very well, even the dishes which I didn’t expect.
Everything about the apartment as described. It has a very large living area and is very spacious. It is an old building so it has a very nice atmosphere. The birdsong at night does not leave you alone. very reasonable option for families with children. When you leave the apartment you can see the river and Prague castle next to you. Charles bridge is 3 minutes on foot.
Very nice apartment, completely clean and not too expensive. When you step outside you can immediately see the Prague Castle and most tourist attractions are within walking distance.
It was one of the cheapest options out there for a triple room. Location was ok. Not the closest to the touristic area but still has a good access to it. We took a direct tram to Prague castle from a nearby stop on the first morning and the ride took just around 20 min
By far our favorite hotel on our 3 week experience through Europe. The staff was great, the breakfast was amazing each morning and our view of the Prague Castle will forever be in our memories. Thank you for a great stay!!
The location was great, five minutes away from Old Town Square and 20 min walk from Prague Castle. The room was spacious and clean. Room service was excellent, and we got a Proceco bottle complimentary. Best of all was their breakfast which consisted of a huge variety of food for all tastes. Shout out for Anastasia, Daria and Christina who were very friendly and courteous. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
A charming hotel, spacious room, half way between the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, in a quiet little street. The breakfasts were excellent. I'd definitely go back next time I'm in Prague.
We stayed in a three-bedroom apartment with a terrace, offering breathtaking views of Charles Bridge, the river, and Prague Castle. The apartment is very spacious and beautifully furnished, just as shown in the pictures. The keyless entry system is very convenient, the beds are comfortable, and the WiFi signal is excellent. Centrally located, it is within walking distance to major attractions in both the Old Town and Lesser Town. The building manager is extremely responsive and resourceful. We would certainly stay here again in the future.
