visit the church first, we got there before it opens at 9am, but it was not ready to open so we see other sights, it is a big mistake, too many people by the time we got there. the church is worth seeing, grand. the gallery is boring, waste of money. eat at the cafe at the palace garden, less people, free toilet, good food. We bought a tickets that covered the whole palace, which is not worthy. Art gallery has nobody, very few paintings. the military parade is worth seeing. Get there by bus, so you don't have to climb uphill, save energy for the rest of the day.
The cashier selling tickets must be one of the rudest and most unhelpful I've ever come across. She may not like her job but there's no need to treat customers like a piece of dirt on her shoe. Quite upset me and spoilt what would otherwise have been a good day out.
Our second time at the Prague castle was not a pleasant experience as this time we had our dogs with us. Even if on their website and in reviews it´s stated that dogs are allowed on the castle ground but not inside the rooms, our experience was different. After walking about 2km to the upper entrance, security told us that because there is a private event that day, dogs are not allowed on the castle grounds unless they have a muzzle (which of course we didn´t bring along with us). So after going back 2 km and passing through another entrace, we saw a couple going pass security with their dog (without a muzzle) so we tried to do the same. They told us this was the rule for that day, but eventually they let us in because we pointed out other dogs that were there without muzzles
Great Castle we booked to go up the tower which is well worth the effort but we paid the price for the next two days our legs were shot at. 300 and odd steps up a tiny spiral stair case. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Wander the castle, but make time for a one hour concert at one of the small palaces. starting around 1pm each day a trio of symphony orchestra players will delight you with a selection of favourite classical music. Very easy to book your tickets online.
Once you cross the Bridge - you can get the Tram up the hill to the Castle.. OR Walk it not too far if your fit. There are different tickets for the Individual buildings - the castle inside is amazing.. DON"T Forget thee is a small street at the back of the Castle where they have the Armoury (upstairs) great little street.
If you want to be pampered, this is the place to be. The location was amazing, located directly below the Prague Castle and next to the Palace Gardens. The hotel also has a rich history as the home of the astronomer Tycho de Brahe, gifted by Roman Emperor King Rudolf II. We enjoyed an incredible evening meal on the Terrace with expansive city views. Our flight was early, so the hotel prepared a breakfast to go as well. One evening we retired early and enjoyed a bottle of the nice selection of wines available in our room.
Best of all this nice hotel is located at the base of the primary castle of Prague and near the the main entrance to the Karluv most or Charles' bridge which is just a short walk to either the Prague Castle or across the bridge to many restaurants and new town. Very convenient location and very quaint with nice facilities and nice breakfast restaurant just a couple of yards from the entrance to the rooms across a cobblestone street although not quite a courtyard. Very nice and cozy.
The location is excellent and Charles bridge, Astronomical clock, Lennon wall and Prague Castle are within walking distance from the hotel. Breakfast was good but few choice for vegetarians. Perfect place to stay in old town. Two champagnes as welcome drink and vouchers for 2 coffes at Cafe Louvre, the oldest cafe were a big surprise. Excellent and very helpful staff. Will stay again here.
Prague
The location was very good, near rive Vltava and tram stops (4 lines), and quite close to eg. old town, Prague Castle and Vysohrad. There was couple of cold beers and a bottle of wine waiting for us, and also almost all kitchen stuff you would need (tea, coffee, sugar, spices etc.). The host(s) were friendly, and there were also a lot of tourist information brochures at the apartment.
The great location, just a few minutes walk from Praha hl.n. The room is new, clean, spacious, and quiet. My room has a nice view of Prague and Prague castle. The staffs are friendly, they recommend the currency exchange shop with a good rate. There's a good airport transport service that you can book through the hotel, which is punctual and helpful. The breakfast is good.
The building is very old but very clean. The interior of the facility is very nice. Also there were colorful paintings on the windows. The rooms are big, clean. The heating system was very good. The location is nice, it is very close to Prague Castle. You can use tram line 22/23 to go to Pohořelec and you can walk down to the hotel.
Our apartment in Prague was great, had a perfect view of the river and very close to major attractions like Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, and 13th century clock. Very comfortable Bedrooms and Bathrooms, spacious modern Kitchen with a nice top pf the line appliances. Overall highly recommend this apartment.
Prague
I like the position, when you come out of the hotel,on the left side it is the way to the Prague castle which is wonderful. It also just took me just one hour to show around and walk to the sights like Prague square, the clock..I like the ancient style of the decoration. It is not modern but it is histrical.
We really enjoyed the complimentary happy hour daily from 4-4:30 with wine and cheese. The hotel was in quiet location but close enough to walk to the Prague Castle and other main attractions! We felt safe and cozy in this beautiful hotel. We would absolutely return again on a future trip to Prague!
Hotel is placed on awesome location close to Prague castle. Staff is always helpful. Rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished. Really liked old-school feel of the lobby with library. Underground parking is available. I would give 10/10 if the restaurant was available for dinner as well.
To make the most of the local culture go by foot, Prague Airport Transfers offer free walking tours to transfer customers, however be mindful that Prague Castle is a good hike uphill but well worth the visit especially for the views over the city. Local beers are a must try and much less expensive than imported brands. If using the Metro system, be sure to validate your ticket.
Charles bridge, John Lennon wall(and pub) and the Prague castle are all must sees. Also taken the walk up the astronomical clock is well work 100kc for the views.
The Jewish quarter is well worth exploring - get the all in one ticket and spend a few hrs there. Very emotive at times. Prague castle also is a must, walk up to it through the gardens - beautiful
Very historic monuments, well kept, my favourite Jewish Town. In Prague castle you can relate to nei gothic, gothic, Renaissance type of building in one courtyard. History well kept.
Prague castle is fascinating and the architectue everywhere is worth seeing.
We did the hop on hop off tour. Found a better deal with a leaflet lying around the information centre... Took it to the main hop on and off tour guides by the Madame Tussaud's museum who matched the price and threw in a free Prague castle tour which was amazing! Highly recommended.
