This hotel is just a quarter mile from Rue de Bac Metro Station and less than half a mile from the Musée D’Orsay. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.
Expectacular. Took a full day to appreciate the masterpieces. Prepare beforehand to select what you want to see or you will be overwhelmed. Go early to beat the masses of tourists. Have a good breakfast and prepare to walk. Take few pictures and use your time wisely.
Buy your tickets online if you’re really impatient about waiting in line. Otherwise the standard wait to get through security isn’t bad, maybe 20 min max if you get there early in the day. This museum is massive and can take up the majority of your day. If you want to see everything it has, plan on setting aside a full day worth of your trip. The layout of the museum is available online so if there are only certain era’s or pieces you want to see you’ll be able to plan accordingly and it may only take a few hours (though you’ll be missing out on a lot of other stuff imo).
dont go in august!!! noisy, more crowded than a NYC subway. the grandeur and beauty of the place was overcome by C.R.O.W.D.S.!! tried to get a glimpse of the mona lisa, was damn near trampled! maybe go in january? so disappointed by noise/crowds which marred experience of a lifetime.
Don't buy from the ones offering tickets outside, the line seems long to get in but in 10 minutes we were inside, you buy tickets inside or you could online. Be prepared to walk alot, your phone full charged for photos, and bring some snacks and water with you, delay seeing the Monaliza to the end because it will be less crowded in Dennon section, don't set on the floor and eat there are chairs and tables in the ground floor. The bathrooms were not so clean and there was no soup or anything to clean with
Give yourself a day or more. Its no joke that there is lots to see. Plus you will find out that your interest is peaked by other areas of this place. Its a wonderful visit for not just the Mona Lisa.
Lots to see. They say you can’t see all of the Louvre in one day. Well, that’s mostly true not just because there are a lot of works of art, but because certain sections of the museum are closed on certain days. Make sure you choose wisely. I went on a Wednesday. The museum is open later than usual, but you’ll miss some French paintings.

The room was beautiful - modern yet Parisian and decent in size with separate toilet and bathroom. The hotel is in an excellent location for sightseeing and shopping - within walking distance to the Louvre Museum and easy access to train station. I also like the thoughtful little details such as nice welcome biscuits and hot chocolate/ coffee machines in the room.

We love our stay here. Great location, cool neighborhood with nice restaurants, bar, and stores. 15 mins walk to Louvre Museum.
Go to the Louvre on a Thursday, it's a lot quieter. Don't queue up at the pyramid; use the underground entrance next to the metro. If you're under 26, don't queue for a ticket, just show your passport at the entrance to the exhibitions
Choose hotels and restaurants that aren't "name-branded" chains. Explore side streets. Go to mass instead of just touring Notre Dame or Sacre Coeur. Visit the Louvre on Sunday when it is free to mingle with the locals. Take the metro instead of cabs. It's cheaper and can be part of the adventure if you live in a city without a subway.
Musee d'Orsay had an exhibition of Van Gogh's work which was amazing. I also really enjoyed Musee Rodin which has his sculptures displayed in the gardens which are worth a visit in their own right. The scent of roses was lovely. It is also great to watch the artists at work in the streets around Sacre Coeur Cathedral. The architecture of buildings in Paris is also really attractive and varied. And then there is the Louvre - really too much to take in on one visit.
Musee du Louvre is, in my opinion, the best starting place. Be prepared to spend a whole day there.
The Louvre and Musee D'Orsay for the major collections and The Orangery for Monet's Waterlillies for a taster of Impressionism.
If you pick your time it is not that busy. Definitely get onto a small group guide of the Louvre though
