In the heart of Buxton, near the Opera house, surrounded by mountains and national parks. Buxton is a lovely town, and The Vault is perfect for the stay, with nice, well decorated rooms with spotlessly clean and modern bathrooms. Felt very secure with lots of private gates to enter before getting to the room. Many places to eat nearby and on-site. There are lots of things to do in Buxton. Beautiful town to explore and sightseeing. There is a parking lot right in front of the Vault and some parking spaces around the property. Definitely would come back.

It was very hot during the time of our stay and the staff was very accommodating and brought a nice fan to our room. They were really wonderful with all of our questions. I had stayed here before, but my friend had not. She loved it as much as I did--so much history in the walls of this hotel. It is so convenient to everything in the area as well--short walk to town or to Poole's Caverns or to the train station. Just lovely!

We could drop our bags off in the morning. Thank you for that!!! The receptionist even gave us a room upgrade. Our stay was amazing. The room was fantastic and so quiet. The hotel met all our expectations and so much more. Highly recommended.

Pooles Cavern

Even after two million years, Poole’s Cavern hasn’t given up all of its secrets. Believed to be inhabited by Bronze Age settlers, scientists are still discovering new sections of this enchanting cave (the most recent was found in 1998) and over 1,000 feet of underground exploration await adventurous visitors, with plenty of stalactites and stalagmites to enthral all ages.
