Great location - just a few minutes walk from the centre of town and Buxton Festival venues, but quiet with pleasant grounds around the hotel, which is a lovely stone building. The room was well appointed and the bed comfortable.

Loved the beautiful location, property and value for money. Also nice green space outside plus provision of books to read and indoor games to play. Liked the cosy indoor communal area. Also being pet friendly was a bonus. Hosts were prompt in their responses and no issues with communication at all.

The accomodation was perfect for our trip! It was homey and well-equipped with a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. Also perfect location for hiking in the peaks.

It was slightly hilly which might not suit everyone but flat is all I know from Cambridgeshire. So it was fine really. I found the centre which I thought was all there was, but actually there was another street which was up a hill and looked like there was not much up there, when there was actually a whole other half of town. Where the market is held I think. Many of the pubs were up there and I missed them for the first couple of nights not knowing they were there. I did find Wetherspoons, which was OK and will suit some but I was after more really. I climbed up to Soloman's temple which is the highest point in Buxton, don't miss that whatever you do. The view is absolutely fantastic. There is lots of places to visit for £2 on the bus these days (if you're still not old enough for a bus pass), but if you have your own car then obviously use that. Poole's cavern is in Buxton itself, but there are plenty of other caverns and peaks to see. I went to Castleton where the Blue John mines are, although that was best getting there by car. At Bakewell (12 miles perhaps) there was Thornbridge brewery which if you want a drink there (You may have to walk from bus-stop but it's not far) you can also have a pizza as well. If you want more than 2 drinks, make sure it's a bus ride !

A wonderful place with great Festival.
A wonderful place with great Festival. The location was perfect for the Opera House and Arts Pavilion. It was especially helpful that the Old Hall Hotel was open after performances for an excellent dinner.

Buxton was a good base for exploring the beautiful Peak District National Park and the Derbyshire Dales as well as other main towns such as Bakewell and Matlock and the various stately homes. The scenery was quite stunning.
Buxton also has a beautiful park to walk through with a boating lake, too.

We visited Poole’s Cavern & Country Park, enjoyed the tour round the cavern then a walk up to Solomon’s Temple, great views from there. Then we had the rest of the day looking round Buxton, great architecture and history. We had an evening meal in The Old Hall Hotel.

Buxton is a lovely town with a beautiful theatre and the train station is central. There are plenty of shops, tea rooms, cafes, pubs and restaurants all within close proximity. There is a park and pavillion, which accommodates a gallery. Also, Buxton is a short drive from other tourist attractions ie Bakewell, Ashford in the water and Chatsworth.
Lovely hotel in a great location, with great facilities & very friendly staff. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed & a practical bathroom. Dinner in the restaurant was very good as was the breakfast. The hotel had an indoor & outdoor pool which sadly we didn’t have time to use, we would definitely like to stay again in the future & enjoy the facilities of this hotel. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to stay in Buxton.
We always try to stay at the Westminster Hotel when we visit Buxton It's in a wonderful location looking over the Pavilion Gardens, just a short walk to the Buxton Opera House and places to eat and shop, as well as having car parking.
The breakfasts are wonderful, lots of choice and served with a lovely smile!
The location of the hotel is superb, a beautiful building with reminders of its grandiose history. Perfect location for the Buxton Opera house and plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and is a perfect base for exploring the Peak District. Friendly staff and all areas of the hotel spotlessly clean.
This was a great stay for our week in the Peak District. Staying in Buxton meant everything was just about 30 mins away. Having an apartment rather than a hotel stay was also much preferred. This was a great experience, thanks for providing such high quality!
