Fabulous cosy accommodation right in the heart of bakewell. Hosts were great right through from booking to sending checking in information. Plenty of information in the accommodation on things to do in the local area. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel also provided which was a nice touch. Everything cleaned to a high standard. Kitchen area has everything you need. Would highly recommend.

Bakewell has a great choice of shops and restaurants and particularly the lovely gardens. However, there needs to be some safe pedestrian crossing at the roundabout opposite the hotel. No sign of a zebra crossing

We went out and about during the day - walked Dragons Back and Kinder Scout. In the evenings we went into Bakewell where there were plenty of places to eat. We had a great roast on Sunday at the Rutland Hotel, a couple of minutes walk from the property.

The town is small and quaint, it's a great base to explore the peak district from with a good selection of local shops and pubs to explore locally. Parking in Bakewell itself is busy, I'd recommend finding nearby parking at your accommodation and walking in where possible

A lovely little town with a good selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs. Special recommendation for the Charleston and Woodland yard pubs/restaurants Enjoyable walks along the river bank The town centre car parks get very busy, so a top tip is to use one of the many out of town car parks within a ten minute walk

The people in town were very friendly.

The people in town were very friendly. In shops and restaurants everyone talked to us. Of note were the Rutland Arms restaurant, as well as the Wheatsheaf Pub. And of course, the Bakewell tart shop. The town is charming. We came to visit Chatsworth House. But given more time we would have also visited Haddon Hall. The riverbank is also beautiful. The murmuration of starlings in the evening was another plus in an already charming town.

The cottage was delightful, beautifully decorated, lots of room and well equipped. We really enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings and the cinema room. A lovely scenic walk along the river to the town centre. First time in Bakewell and we loved it.
