Breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, cereals and hot breakfast cooked to order, freshly brewed tea and coffee and host enquired if we needed any extras. Location was perfect, quite location but only a short stroll to restaurant and shops. Lovely garden to relax in. Lots of literature available on local attractions and walks in the area.

Excellent location, 5 min walk to Matlock centre and less to two good pubs. Very easy drive to locations such Chatsworth , Haddon Hall , Bakewell, public transport was available. The free off street parking was one of reasons we chose this property. Property was very well laid out, light, airy and comfortable. The appliances and equipment were of good quality and decoration bright and contemporary. The book shelves had some very good guides including OS map. We would definitely stay here if visiting area again.

The town is quite small, and there seem to be fish and chip shops on almost every corner! One thing we found really frustrating was that many businesses—including ice cream shops, cafés, and other small shops—only accepted cash. In this day and age, that felt very outdated. We were directed to a cash machine that charged a withdrawal fee, so we decided to skip getting ice cream altogether. It would be great to see more businesses accepting card payments.

Matlock is a lovely place for a short stay, close to the Peak District, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Monsal Viaduct. Some lovely independent shops, charity shops and cafes. I recommend the Garden Room for lunch as it overlooks a lovely area of Matlock. Some of the streets are quite steep though so might be difficult for those with limited mobility.

Good range of eating places. A great park with lots of facilities and play areas, including a kids splash area. Didn't visit any of the farm/theme parks around as they were too pricey for a family.

There is a great variety to interest people in Matlock. We did the Lumsdale Heritage walk, taking in the reservoirs and waterfall. Then walked into Matlock to enjoy the town, park and riverside. There are so many walks in the area we were spoilt for choice. We'll definitely return to see and do more in Matlock.

I was in Matlock Bath which was very scenic with plenty to see if you like walking. There were also bus services to take you to nearby towns. I went to Bakewell and Buxton. There are no grocery stores there to buy food but Matlock is only a mile away. An abundance of fish and chip shops and some nice coffee and bakery cafes
