Tmark Hotel Vaticano faces the Vatican walls and the entrance of the Vatican Museums. I would like to say thank you for Ms. Sofia .
Pre book your tickets online as the queue to. get in can take up to 3 hours. I enjoyed seeing all the museum pieces. There is a place to have lunch and enjoy your surrounds. For any art buff this is heaven.
The basilica is wonderful. Sunday morning at 7 is not the time to go if there is a papal mass. The vatican museum tour and sistine Chapel are worth seeing. You should pay in advance for a Vatican tour guide so you get to jump the queue and go straight in.
Do a tour with a guide. 1) Access is without long lines. 2) There is so much to take in, without a guide you would miss so much. I am cheap in travel, but took two tours in Rome with the same American guide, so the accent was not a problem. It was well worth the price.
Ignore all the hawkers trying to sell you a tour. Download Rick Steve's app on your phone. It's the best! He's got most of Rome covered and he does a great job. You can be on your own and learn everything. No need for a guide!
Very grand from the outside .Queues are long especially in hot weather would recommend a guide loads around the square try to barter with them for a good price.Inside I was disappointed didn’t feel the way I thought I would feel from other smaller and less grand churches around Italy and beyond .Hard to take in the unnecessary grandeur ,to me it defeated the whole purpose of why I went but from a historical point of view I might like it
Use the Omnia/Roma Pass, book an entry time and book a guided tour for the Vatican Museum. Booking the guided tour will save you hours of standing in line and get you to the most important highlights through the enormous crowds! It will also get you directly into the Basilica right after the Sistine Chapel. It was a great value and literally saved us hours!
The view from the rooftop breakfast/bar area is spectacular. St. Peter’s Basilica in the distance. Breakfast had many options with short order as well. The bartender in the evening was awesome. He knew us by name. Great place for apertivo!
