Pictures simply cannot do this place justice. It is incredibly beautiful, every corner of the hotel was well curated and designed. The service was absolutely incredible. We had a couple of things we needed assistance with and Reiko and Yuna were always available to help our group. Everyone was just so kind! There are literally hundreds of cocktails to try and everything we had was great. This was honestly the most magical hotel I’ve ever stayed in, just unreal attention to detail and service. Thank you so much, barhotel!

Unbelievable hotel it was so relaxing and perfect. The dinner and breakfast made you feel like royalty. Everythjng is fresh and made with such care. We weren’t expecting the breakfast to be fancy and it was! The private onsen is amazing as well

Nice view, spacious room, thanks for connecting both our rooms. All Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were great! My family enjoyed the 3 morning breakfasts. Room service food was delicious.

The temple is very beautiful; the pirate ships are...

The temple is very beautiful; the pirate ships are remarkably kitsch. Don't linger till late if you plan on getting the bus back - the queues were substantial, and the prolonged wait required till after dark to finally get conveyed to Hakone-Yumoto station was bordering on a hypothermic episode. Take some warm gear and be prepared for a considerable delay.

It is the best location to within Hakone Lake Ashinoko in term of view of Mt. Fuji and proximity to cruise rides and restaurants. It is worth to stay in the apartment whole day just to watch the sun rise and sun set view of Mt. Fuji and enjoy the private onsen. No other location in Hakone can have both Lake and Mt. Fuji view better than this property.

We stayed 2 nights in December 2025 at the hotel. The view from hotel terrace of Mt Fuji was fantastic. Our room overlook Lake Ashi and the garden of the resort, it was beautiful to wake up every morning to see that view. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The dinner at both Japanese and French restaurants were delicious and serve with such care. I would suggest whoever comes to stay at this hotel should stay 2 nights so that you can enjoy dinner at both restaurants. Easy access to many areas of attraction from the hotel.

The entire property reflected peace, from the decor of the rooms and thoughtful landscaping, to the private deck with onsen and outdoor shower. It was like entering a magical world. Lovely amenities too. The attentive staff could not be more welcoming. The location is quiet and feels private, but a bus stop is steps away taking you to local attractions. Highly recommend the Hakone Open-Air Museum, the fantastic food offerings in Hakone Yumoto, and a trip to Lake Ashi and the Hakone Shrine.

This was the best hotel we stayed in during our two week trip to Japan. We were a multigenerational family and had three rooms booked. I think everyone had a great experience and relished in the relaxing atmosphere. Not a lot around, but super easy access to the ferries on Lake Ashi and the ropeway, as well as city buses.

This is a true gem in Hakone, right on the edge of Lake Ashinoko. You can indulge in breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji — though, as with all things in nature, it depends on the clouds, and you might be lucky enough to catch it in all its glory. The pirate ship terminal is right next to the property, providing easy access to the ropeway. We also enjoyed the Teppanyaki, featuring the best wagyu beef we’ve ever had — and this isn’t our first trip to Japan, so we can confidently say it truly was the best.

The dinner and breakfast were amazing, always made with locally sourced, seasonally, and fresh ingreidients. Truly a unique experience, the onsens are very peaceful and private. The staff are amazing and will answer any questions or help with any requests you have. Very close to the cable cars to explore the Hakone area and Lake Ashi. Highly recommend this ryokan, especially if this is your first ryokan experience as the staff are very friendly and helpful!

Loved this hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking to visit Hakone. Everyone working there is so kind and helpful. We arrived soaking wet from our trip from Tokyo and they offered us towels and tea to sit by the fire and warm up, then kept our bags there until check in time. The breakfast was fabulous, especially enjoying from the view overlooking Lake Ashi in the background. Having the fireplace lit until 10pm was so lovely - lots of guest enjoying the den area together with jazz playing in the background. 10/10 vibes.
