This is a free Entry area behind the palace, entrance is from the side, You can do this at the end as a relaxation after you finish visiting the palace and take it easy going through and seeing different areas of this Folk Museum. Surely a Must visit. Also the area opposite to this leads to a small town or street which has unique structures and cafes.
This is one of the best museums I have been in for some time. I am currently working on an legal anthropological project and the holdings of this museum were quite informative. This museum is a "must not miss" item to be added to anyone's adjenda.
The regular exhibition is free to visit! You only pay for the temporary exhibitions (there are discounts) and the prices are still good. For me, the regular exhibition was already enough to spend hours walking around. There is a history section and an art section which gives you two different subjects in one place. :)
Found the museum to be well organized and easy to move through. The exhibits were marked well in multiple languages and spaced apart well. The museum is a comprehensive history of the culture and customs of Korea. This is a "must see" place if you are interested in history and the land you are visiting. Give it at least a couple of hours.
