Hotels near Kumkapi Train Station, Istanbul

Very cosy and clean room. The staff was more than helpful and kind.

Location is good: about 15 minutes by foot to Blue Mosque and Sultanahmet square. And very close to restaurants street. The hotel's street is quite. But the hotel located near the Mosque. So, 5 times a day you can hear call for pray. We like this sound, but 1st time it starts at 4.30 am. The room is not big, but so nise and cozy - in ottoman style. Bed is comfortable. Wi-fi is good only on the 1st floor (on the 3rd it's impossible to catch it) near reception desk and kitchen. We worked there. Hotel's team is helpful and hospitable. Can speak English, Russian, Turkish as well. The hotel is not big, but atmospheric, with a spiral wooden stairs - there is a feeling of old Istanbul. In hotel 3 floors - no elevator. I can recommend it for about 3-4 nights to feel an old part of the city

We stayed with my wife, kids, and parents at La Vien Hotel for 3 days. It’s located in a lively neighborhood with many small shops and nice seafood restaurants. Not fancy, more for locals, but at the same time close to the main tourist attractions. Since it’s in an old historical building, there’s no elevator and the staircase is quite steep. In our case it wasn’t an issue, but if you have knee problems, better think twice. Rooms are very clean and the service is great! Ufuk, the hotel manager, helped us organize transfers, carried all the luggage up and down, gave tips on the best places to eat, and in general made the impression of a man who never sleeps – almost instant responses and always ready to help. And the bonus is the terrace. It has a small kitchen and a fridge where you can store some food and prepare your own breakfast – with an outstanding view of the Bosphorus. A big plus: there’s no direct sun in the morning or evening. So overall, I can definitely recommend this place if you like discovering local neighborhoods. And people like Ufuk make the whole experience a great journey :)

The owner and the front desk staff were amazingly helpful. I had a few different issues throughout my time in istanbul (nothing to do with the hotel) and they happily helped each time. They're also extremely responsive online which is very helpful. The location is also very convenient but a little outside the chaos of the tourist area, while still very close to transport and restaurants.

The hotel was very nice, cozy, clean and close enough to the tram station and even the subway station. The rooms were clean and welcomming, we slept very well, with good sized bathrooms, and the terrace on the fifth floor has a nice view to the sea and it's a good place to enjoy a bevrage after a long day. The staff was always there for us, there were very understanding and helpful with getting around Istanbul, we asked them a lot of questions and they were happy to help. Would choose it again if we returned to Istanbul. 10/10.

Location was pretty great when you come first time in Istanbul. There was like a small, cool square with tons of restaurants, live music and excitement in the night hours around the corner, so you can really get the feeling of the culture. Location is also filled with little stores, where you can buy food, drinks and necessities. It is 20ish min walk from Hagia Sofia and that part of Istanbul, but the walk is cool and you are never bored, as there is always something to see on the way. The room was always clean, they changed pillowcases , water, towels everyday. There was a TV in the room, with Netflix and Youtube available, so you could spend some time in if needed :) The temperature in the room was great, but there is also AC if needed, shower had a great pressure and toilet paper was added if needed. Host shared some landmarks to visit and advised on good places to eat nearby. There was also a possibility to book a Airport transfer with the host. For the price, would recommend as it is a nice place, connected with the Istanbul culture.
