Absolutely loved the vibe and staff that greeted on arrival. Friendly to the last minute you check out. That is everybody. The reception, the bell man whose services you even didn't require. Everyone maintains the impression that you the guest number one. This hotel is more like that Continental hotel from John Wick movies. The location beats all. There is happy hour with liqueurs from 17 to 18. In the mornings there is hot water and coffee in the lobby. Perfect San Francisco stay. There is more. The coffee espresso machine in the room is Illy. There are also refillable aluminum bottles for water. The pantry where you can refill are on 03 and 07 floor. Your will appreciate the rooms overlooking the inner yard as they are especially shielded from street noises. The BART station is Montgomery and is 07 mins walk. Not convinced? Loved this hotel - I was pleasantly surprised. It is right next to the road that starts China town and leads to little Italy. Lots to do around the general area. I really liked the eco approach and the water filter machine in the hallway. Theres a rooftop space which I found out about from another review - sadly I had back luck weather wise so didn't use it.

The staff at the Ritz Carlton is excellent -- professional, friendly, attentive, knowledgeable. We had breakfast at the Ritz, a late night hamburger in the "bar" area , and ordered room service -- one the best BLTs I have had. Food and service were first-rate. I also used the workout facilities which were spotless and presented many options -- treadmills, bikes, weights

i stayed in the hotel with my family durning our summar vacation and I was so glad i stayed in the hotel. the hotel, the plaza, and the location are exceptional. everything is within walking distance especially the fishermen wharf. my kids loved the plaza and the chocolate factory. it is safe to stay with your family. if we are going to visit SF next year, we will have the hotel to be in our plan.

Access to public transportation is the strongest asset of this hotel; extremely well-connected to all means of transportation, from street car to BART and buses and only a 30-minutes walk from the Ferry Building. The level of drugs and unemployment present on Market Street is undeniable and quite jarring, if not used to it, but the hotel did a good job at making guests feel safe. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and having access to unlimited water fountain (with ice), coffee and tea was a nice perk.

The waterfront view room would definitely take your breath away. It was right in front of the Bay Bridge and very near the Ferry Building. Everything screamed wellness in the hotel; it was beautifully decorated and also well thought out. I had the most amazing time just sitting by the window and enjoying the view, especially when you can see the sunrise, and that was pure magic!

Great location - a couple of mins walk to Chinatown, downtown and BART stations 15 mins walk, 15-20 mins walk to North Brach and 25 mins walk to Ferry Building. It was quiet, lovely rooms with an old style touch, very clean, big bathroom, friendly staff.

Location was fantastic. Very close to the Ferry building and a walk along the coast line. China town's also nearby as is Union square, and some other things to experience. The area itself is also safe and clean. The pub's great for breakfast, dinner and drinks.

Fantastic location overlooking the ferry building and the Oakland Bay Bridge. Very easy to find when coming into San Francisco from the east, and handy for the airport too. Great choice of restaurants along the sea front within east walking distance. Top floor corner room was light and very spacious with oblique views of the sea.

Very centrally located, more or less everything is within walking distance. I had no problem walking to the Ferry Building, Haight-Ashbury or to Crissy Field. If you do find that to be too far on your feet, there's plenty to see and do around Union Square - just don't venture too far into the Tenderloin at night, at least not if you're on your own.

The staff was very accommodating, really friendly, kind and helpful. The room was huge, clean, comfortable and air conditioning worked well. The location was great, about 5 minutes to the Union Square or the cable tram and 30 minutes to the Ferry building. There are a few bars and restaurants nearby too. The bed was very comfortable. A refrigerator, a safe and a coffee machine served for our comfort. I loved all the "Anatomicals" products in the bathroom.

Rent a bike from near the Ferry Building, bike through...

Rent a bike from near the Ferry Building, bike through Market St., go west through the Hippie street, Golden Gate Park, then up the west coast alongside the beach, up the hill to Golden Gate Bridge, then either cross the bridge and bike more or down the eastern side along the Piers and back to Ferry Building to return the bike. You can also take a Ferry back from beyond the bridge if you are too tired. Full day trip totally worth it!
