The location is very central and within a reasonable distance from the airport. After traveling for over 22 hours, the staff assisted me with an early check-in which I was very grateful for. Breakfast was delicious and the room was incredibly spacious and definitely up to the standards one expects from a DoubleTree hotel.

If you park hop start at Universal and then take Hogwarts...

If you park hop start at Universal and then take Hogwarts express to Island of Adventure. It’s a great ride and we loved the experience going from park to park. Epic Universe was amazing and we spent a full day from sun up to sun down and Monsters land at night is so cool and creepy.

We had the best time at Universal.

We had the best time at Universal. We loved the app, which allowed us to see what wait times were for rides and navigate throughout the park. You can also use the app to order food in the parks. We enjoyed all of the rides that we got on. Make sure to wear good walking shoes and take a poncho and/or umbrella if you're going while it's raining, since it rains on and off a lot in Florida. It definitely did not stop our trip, though. Some rides may be delayed due to the rain but they usually start back up once the rain stops for a while. Best trip ever.

Being from Australia, I always thought that Florida was warm...

Being from Australia, I always thought that Florida was warm, but around Christmas time, it is chilly. I enjoyed a fabulous trip here with my son, my daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Everything was great, including the onsite resort, the theme park, restaurant and shops. A very enjoyable trip, which I will long remember.

Expensive and very busy, but is a great day out. Too many screen based attractions for me personally but that mainly because I prefer roller coasters and thrill rides, but the movie magic and theming here is great

Plan on a full day in each park.most rides have an hour or longer que. so plan on 1 hour for each ride( at the minimum) . Google Easter eggs in park, it is fun looking for them. IE, the troll under the bridge by Mythos , or Dr. Suess in Suess Landing . The characters are only out in afternoon , so plan them accordingly. If going during Mardi Gras, 1. dress the part. 2. buy the food card, great savings

Universal Orlando has become our families annual destination...

Universal Orlando has become our families annual destination. We recommend staying on property and purchasing annual passes versus daily passes. You will save money on merchandise, food, parking and some restaurants in City Walk, if you plan to spend multiple days in the parks.
