Flying trout boutique lodge is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in the world . We had a lovely suite upstairs with a panoramic view of lake Taupo . Breakfast is wonderful and Karen will insure you are pleased with everything served . Rob is helpful with area info and a few nights he drive us in to town for dinner . We would definitely stay at this charming lodge again - treat yourself if you are in lake Taupo

Orakei Korako - The Hidden Valley is 38 km from Whakaipo Lodge, while Great Lake Convention Centre is 11 km away. Taupo Airport is 18 km from the property, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. The location was 10 minute drive from the centre of Taupo, breakfast was excellent. Angie and Garth were incredibly friendly giving us help with places to eat and all around the local area. Despite the cold weather in New Zealand for summer we had a fire in the lodge to keep us warm.

Nina was great at making you feel welcome and had great suggestions for activities in and out of town. I would stay here again any time!

The lodge offers a children's playground. Very close to town which was amazing as all the shops/restaurants are all walking distance including an awesome playground for the kids. Reception staff were friendly with great communication skills, who made our stay feel comfortable. Our 3 bedroom apartment was perfect for our family, there was everything we needed.

Tongariro Lodge Restaurant specializes in traditional New Zealand dishes, guests enjoy meals by an open fire. The wonderful team generously upgraded us as it was our anniversary and we loved the extra space, cosy feel and comfy couches in the cabin they gave us! It's a perfect location for a special getaway.
