Situated along Tanohara River and surrounded by tranquil nature in Kurokawa Onsen hot spring area, Oku no Yu Ryokan offers charming Japanese-style accommodation and various hot spring baths. Service was flawless, the food was perfect, and the baths were great. My room was good for my needs, it was quiet, and the waterfall and rivers outside was a great source of white noise. Highly recommend for a peaceful stay!

Berlokasi di Minamioguni, 39 km dari Gunung Aso, Shikinosato Hanamura menyediakan akomodasi dengan taman, parkir pribadi gratis, dan teras. The staff were attentive and spoke English. Fujimoto-san in particular was very polite and friendly. He helped us from picking us to the bus stop to the end of our trip.  Although the location is not in Kurokawa Onsen town, the staff were accommodating and dropped us off and picked us up from the town and from and to the bus stop when we arrived and left. The room and onsens were clean and spacious. We enjoyed the outdoor private onsen in particular. The public cave onsen was also quite fun.  The dinner and lunch was delicious highlighted local ingredients expertly prepared by the chef.  Overall, our stay at Hanamura was beyond our expectations and was relaxing and peaceful.

They have free pick up and drop off. Their ryokan is very well maintained. The service team is excellent. The location is perfect. The food was extremely good. They even have a really nice private onsen.

Built in 1722, Okyakuya is situated in the historical district of Kurokawa Onsen district. Located only 100 metres from Kurokawa Onsen, Free WiFi is provided and private parking is available on site. Simply - and by far - the best place that we stayed at while visiting Japan. The staff is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The Japanese style rooms are lovely and they have a great view. The food is delicious. The Kaiseki is nothing fancy, but it is all very well prepared and a great experience. There are various onsens, most of them we could enjoy almost by ourselves. Definitely recommend Okyakuya to anyone visiting Japan!

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. This may have singlehandedly been the best ryokan I've stayed at in my few trips to Japan to date. The ryokan's bathing facilities are top notch, and having visited a few of the other Kurokawaonsen ryokan onsen before checking in (making use of the Nyuto Tegata onsen-hopping pass, which allows you to visit up to three onsens within the limits of Kurokawaonsen in the course of a day), including Yamamizuki, I believe that Noshiyu's onsens are up there amongst the best. Turning to the food, the booth allocated to me/my room in the dining room both for dinner and breakfast was exquisite, alike the cooking and the high quality ingredients used for my two meals. My room (the Yamabuki) was one of the biggest I have stayed at at a ryokan, and has its own mini onsen. All in all, an amazing accommodation experience which met and slightly surpassed my expectations.

Let me start with an advise; when you come to Japan go to Kyushu and stay in this hotel. My wife and I enjoy our last evening here (we stayed 5 nights) and this hotel is excellent. The location, the room (we stayed in the suite), the food, but most of all the excellent staff. The staff make you feel welcome, the service is warm and personal, yet professional at the same time. They know who you are from the moment you arrive. One of the best performances we experienced and we travel a lot. My wife has a rare allergy and they provided special meals for here. Exceptional. The hotel is also very clean and is recently renovated. The onsen in the room and the public one are comfortabel / beautiful. The location is perfect to visit Mount Aso, Kumamoto, Beppu, Oita, Takachiho gorge et cetera. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Fumoto Ryokan menawarkan akomodasi bergaya tradisional Jepang dengan pesona bersejarah, serta memiliki berbagai pemandian air panas indoor dan outdoor. I really like the traditional Japanese-style rooms at the Japanese inn. There was also a small hot spring bath in the room I stayed in this time, which was great! The meals provided by the hotel are also delicious. It's a pity to stay only for one night. I really want to stay a few more nights! I will definitely visit again if I have the chance.
