I Minamioguni, 39 kilometer fra Aso-fjellet, ligger Shikinosato Hanamura, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering og en terrasse. Room was very spacious. There were 3 heaters in the room, so definately warm enough to anyone's liking if you needed. Room onsen was nice. Food was in a private dining room for dinner and breakfast. There was a very nice lounge to relax in as well. There is a public cave onsen that was quite special. In winter, roads may have snow and need to be wary if driving in.

Built in 1722, Okyakuya is situated in the historical district of Kurokawa Onsen district. Located only 100 metres from Kurokawa Onsen, Free WiFi is provided and private parking is available on site. The place is wonderfully preserved and the staff is gentle and lovable, they are truly committed to enable their guests have a great time. What I liked: the hotel, location, staff, food.

I Minamioguni, bare 40 kilometer fra Aso-fjellet og 49 kilometer fra Kinrin-sjøen ligger Hanare no Yado Hanagokoro. So homey and warm. Friendly and helpful staff. Super friendly for pet! Comfy bed and relaxing onsen. Food was really delicious!

Kurokawa Onsen Yama no Yado Shinmeikan features 5 hot-spring baths, including a 30-metre long cave bath. The staff was extremely helpful, parking our car for us and helping us navigate. The cave onsen was stunning, as the cave was much larger than I expected and very interesting, and the water was very relaxing. The food was also incredible!

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. The staff were extremely helpful and were able to communicate with me effectively. The different in house onsens were well maintained and offered good experiences. The room was very comfortable, clean and well maintained and offered a great coffee. The property although not large had many pockets of places one could enjoy a peaceful environment. The meals were of a high quality making the dining experience extremely enjoyable. Attention to detail was amazing (see the sesame seeds!) making the meal a feast for the eyes before the tasty feast. Breakfast was also hearty and tasty.

Located in Minami Aso in the Kumamoto Region, 10 km from Naka-dake, Hotel Yumeshizuku boasts a hot spring bath and sauna. Each room at this hotel is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. Everything was perfection - starting from my arrival, public bathhouse experience, the cozy room, delicious dinner and breakfast and very kind staff members. The view of Mt. Aso from the third floor lookout and the footbath area is impeccable. Also, much special thanks to Mr. Isao Tsugayasu, who was extremely helpful and kind to us throughout the stay! He truly made our experience at Yumeshizuku unforgettable. Thank you so much again for your kindness and hospitality. I look forward to my next stay at Yumeshizuku in the nearest future.

Boasting various indoor and open-air hot spring baths, Fumoto Ryokan offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation with a historic charm. It is surrounded by serene greenery next to a river. Private, traditional, clean. Perfect service. Fumoto Ryokan always cater to our needs even before our arrival. Most of their onsen are private rooms so it is very nice for small groups like us who appreciate getting our own space. One of the highlight would be the meals, loved everything they serve here, they also have selections of beers and other alcohol, try their local beers! They are also strategically located in the center of Kurokawa so it is easy to explore the town.
