Situated along Tanohara River and surrounded by tranquil nature in Kurokawa Onsen hot spring area, Oku no Yu Ryokan offers charming Japanese-style accommodation and various hot spring baths. The service is awesome! All the staff, from the reception to the dining room, are extremely helpful and friendly. The room is spacious for even five people. Their onsens are well maintained and beautiful. Dinner and breakfast Kaiseki are beyond my expectations.

Outstanding service, amazing food (dinner and breakfast included, both multi course exquisitely prepared works of art!) , facilities were lovely (private onsen), very comfortable bed, wonderful stay.

Kurokawa Onsen Yama no Yado Shinmeikan features 5 hot-spring baths, including a 30-metre long cave bath. Location. Stunning view and atmosphere. Sympathy from the staff. Kudos for Shujan for his kindness and informative interaction. Amazing food experience.

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. The staff were extremely helpful and were able to communicate with me effectively. The different in house onsens were well maintained and offered good experiences. The room was very comfortable, clean and well maintained and offered a great coffee. The property although not large had many pockets of places one could enjoy a peaceful environment. The meals were of a high quality making the dining experience extremely enjoyable. Attention to detail was amazing (see the sesame seeds!) making the meal a feast for the eyes before the tasty feast. Breakfast was also hearty and tasty.

Located in Minami Aso in the Kumamoto Region, 10 km from Naka-dake, Hotel Yumeshizuku boasts a hot spring bath and sauna. Each room at this hotel is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. Let me start with an advise; when you come to Japan go to Kyushu and stay in this hotel. My wife and I enjoy our last evening here (we stayed 5 nights) and this hotel is excellent. The location, the room (we stayed in the suite), the food, but most of all the excellent staff. The staff make you feel welcome, the service is warm and personal, yet professional at the same time. They know who you are from the moment you arrive. One of the best performances we experienced and we travel a lot. My wife has a rare allergy and they provided special meals for here. Exceptional. The hotel is also very clean and is recently renovated. The onsen in the room and the public one are comfortabel / beautiful. The location is perfect to visit Mount Aso, Kumamoto, Beppu, Oita, Takachiho gorge et cetera. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Boasting various indoor and open-air hot spring baths, Fumoto Ryokan offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation with a historic charm. It is surrounded by serene greenery next to a river. The vibe is amazing, staff is very friendly from the moment you arrived the hotel. Their staff are very skillful that they can parking our big size car, don't be afraid to ask them to park your car. Food is amazing and all kind of varieties, and do not need to worry about the hotspring, they have so many on site.
