Situated along Tanohara River and surrounded by tranquil nature in Kurokawa Onsen hot spring area, Oku no Yu Ryokan offers charming Japanese-style accommodation and various hot spring baths. Enjoyed the quaint garden path along the river on the property. There were many baths (with great water quality), some of which are private, but with no extra charge. The outdoor pools were heavenly, one of which was by the riverside and a waterfall view. The room was clean and huge with two very comfortable twin beds and a balcony. The Japanese-style breakfast was great, although if one wants a western style, it may be a problem. The service was impeccable. You couldn’t ask for more pleasant and helpful staff.

Open from September 2019, only 150 metres from JR Hakata Train Station, Miyako Hotel Hakata offers stylish rooms with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. Wonderful location, great staff! We feel very welcomed.

指宿 潮音 Ibusuki Shione har boenheter med utsikt over sjøen i tillegg til gratis WiFi og gratis privat parkering. Her bor du 47 kilometer fra Kagoshima Chuo stasjon, i Ibusuki. This is one of our favourite accommodations during our one week trip in Kyushu. The location is perfect, esp if you had a car. Less than 10 minute drive to the Saraku Sand Bath, supermarket and JR station. It's also close to Ryugu Jingu and Tamatebako Onsen. The room has a big balcony with ocean view, and it was superb to watch the sunset and sunrise. The room has enough amenities and cooking equipments to make a small meal. The beds are large and comfortable. The natural onsen was a surprise bonus, and it is true onsen because we could smell sulphur from it! The host, Takada-san, showed us spectacular hospitality from the very beginning. The responses were always quick and warm. We deeply feel the love Takada-san have for Ibusuki. Ibusuki is such a lovely ocean village with high quality onsen, and the best sashimi I have ever had (among my 5 visits to Japan). We highly recommend everyone to visit Ibusuki and stay at Takada-san's accommodation!

I Yufu, 44 kilometer fra Oita stadion, ligger Bessou Konjakuan, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering og en restaurant. The facilities were amazing. We stayed in a room worn an onsen and it was wonderful. The dinner and the breakfast were plenty and very good. Staff were kind and polite.

I Beppu, 26 kilometer fra Crasus Dome Ōita, ligger 別府鉄輪温泉 萬力屋manrikiya, som har gratis WiFi og gratis privat parkering. This little ryokan is run by a really lovely family, mother, father and daughter. The daughter mostly looks after check in and check out and she was extremely friendly and helpful. The room that I had was easy to stay in, it was quite spacious and a toilet and sink were included which was convenient. There’s even a little elevator on the premises which makes life easier. The food in this ryokan is made from the heart and I was able to enjoy a delicious kaiseki dinner and full breakfast. On other mornings I ordered a small breakfast of delectable home made onigiri, miso soup, pickles and either a salad or tamagoyaki. My plan initially didn’t include the food so I was able to negotiate these. The little onsens are delightful. Location to other onsens and Jigoku, otherwise known as Hells of Beppu. There are plenty of accessible eateries nearby too.

Stadium City Hotel Nagasaki ligger i Nagasaki, med Nagasaki stasjon bare 12 minutters gange unna. Good location, very good breakfast spread, shampoo, hair conditioner amongst the best that we come across in 3 weeks travel across kyushu.

I Beppu, bare 24 kilometer fra Oita stadion og 4,1 kilometer fra Beppu stasjon ligger 徳の宿 ふぶ庵. The Onsen is quite enjoyable and relaxing.

I Beppu, bare 26 kilometer fra Oita stadion og 5,3 kilometer fra Beppu stasjon ligger 日本旅館 器 別府鉄輪 nihonryokan utsuwa beppukannnawa. Amazing property and terrific value for money. The room we stayed was seperate from the main building (a 2’ walk away) had an onsen bath + outdoor onsen areas and was simply stunning. Such a luxurious feel! You’re own private spa. Good location as well - walkable distance from the sights. (Hells of Beppu etc..) Would highly recommend.
