Location is top tier, we get to go the sleep and wake in the jungle. There are many trails around the camp where you can hike, go for a swim or just discover the ruins. Staff is friendly and helpful (Maddy drove me back to the bus stop), food was tasty, there is hot and drinking water, beds are comfortable ! I highly recommend you to stop at Lower Dover, you won’t regret it :)

Everything, it was the best experience in Belize Marcela is the best host ever, kind, attentive, intelligent and good-hearted. She can speak more languages and she was helping us with everything. The accomodation among the trees was a unique experience, we haven’t slept this well for a long time:) The trips were excellent with english-speaking guides, it was a real adventure goong by a jeep in the jungle and visiting the maya ruins and the waterfalls. The food was always home-made, prepared with natural ingredients, and we could choose between several options, according to our needs, and we really felt part of their family💚Everything was perfect, I can only recommend it

Stayed for few days. Close to the home builders (Pletts, Premier and Linda Vista), Mayan ruins and San Ignacio. Very secure, beautiful grounds, and very gracious hosts. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Forgot my charger plug and they were able to provide one. Excellent coffee with a French press each morning. Great suggestions for things to do in the area.

Great place to stay with friendly hosts. Villa Cayo is only a few 3.5K from San Ignacio which is great for restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Located on a hill above the tree line gives you the jungle feel with great sunsets. A well maintained touch of paradise.

The staff at Mariposa Lodge were exceptionally friendly, courteous and attentive to all of our needs. Norma prepared delicious meals for us everyday. Our bartender and wait staff were always welcoming and willing to provide advice on places to visit in the area. Gladimir, the general manager, made sure we were prepared for our daily tours and had supplies take with us. All that we had to do everyday was relax, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and chat with other visitors and staff. It was a lovely vacation at Mariposa!
