We stayed at the Selva Bananito Lodge for two nights over the 2023/24 New Year period. If nature and the outdoors is your thing, coupled with a destination that is being as ecologically sound and sensitive to its surroundings as possible, then I can’t recommend a stay here highly enough. Various excursions and activities are on offer, we can highly recommend the forest walk and horse riding, Niels was an excellent guide too. I also opted for a half hour Gyro flight with Jurgen on our final morning. We flew out over the forest to the coast and back to the private airstrip with Jurgen pointing out the extent of their forest and many points of interest along the way, he really is passionate about this land and a good ambassador for what can be achieved. It really puts things into perspective when seen from the air as well. We could easily have spent longer at the Selva Bananito Lodge as there’s plenty of activities we didn’t get time to do. Even spend some more time bird watching from our cabin veranda. Finally I’d like to thank Iris for her help, who tirelessly assisted with everything around the lodge and also helped us plan our itinerary in Costa Rica generally. The property was idylic, with a lovely pool and extremely helpful staff who helped us work out the next part of our trip. The property backed onto a beach which was basically private, and the food and drinks were so tasty and excellent value for money. The rooms were very comfortable and it was the best pina colada I have ever had. Juliana and Raul were fab!

The property is located in the city near the center, making everything very accessible. The host (Diana) was very helpful, gave a good tour and stocked the apartment well. Everything needed was available in the apartment, such as dishes and toiletries.

A great location for anyone staying in limon. Easy walk to historic area and limon was ideal to visit cahuita and tortuguaro. The property was extremely clean with great kitchen and breakfast choice was delivered each morning. Hosts attentive and helpful despite not being at the property they answered questions quickly by message.
