Fantastic location! Beautiful castle on a beautiful estate! But above all a great hostess! We enjoyed the castle visit with secret corners, nice anecdotes about previous residents and from the hostess herself. The breakfast was excellent and very extensive! There is a beautiful library, there are rooms where you can play ping pong, darts, pool, billiards, games and even do a workout.

Well, where do I start ???? How much space do I have? Domaine de Langlardie was not just a wonderful, old, unusual, quirky, amazing manor house ( although it was all those things) - but also our stay there was an enchanting, uplifting, and almost spiritual experience - Anna and Jorge not only made us feel absolutely at home from the very first "bonjour" but they are totally generous from then on with their time and enthusiasm. . Nothing was ever too much trouble - the atmosphere is so relaxed , with Anna and Jorge seriously embracing the alternate lifestyle . I previously read about their "back to nature and eco-living" and ( a bit nervously) expected to meet a couple of sandal-wearing slightly "drop-out" hippies, but gow wrong was I!!! They are not like that at all, thank goodness. They live a simple, yet practical life, and are a true example of how eco-living can actually work, in the 21st century. . I would urge anyone to stay here - we booked an extra night as chef Martin was cooking his traditional "asado" Argentinian barbecue. And let's not forget the chorus of chirpy frogs from the natural rainwater pool!! There's so much more - but why not come and find out for yourselves?? Note- please come here if you have a genuine open mind to a new experience - and are curious to find something different - the venue is spotless and the decor eclectic yet traditional - but if newly-painted doors and shutters are essential for your stay then look elsewhere!!

The property was very comfortable with ample space. The lounge suite was great to rest and stretch out after a long day. The terrace offered a nice spot to enjoy the late afternoon. We loved how Thierry has decorated the place. Really enjoyed the 3 days we spent in the region.

We loved everything about our stay with Jean- Luc & Cecile! We were treated like friends, not guests, throughout our stay in their beautiful house. The room was large, bright, and filled with the aroma of wisteria growing outside the window. The view was amazing! The garden was an oasis of tranquillity with a beautiful view. Nothing was too much trouble. We would recommend it to anyone seeking an idyllic stay in Dordogne. Kym and Graham xx

The hosts, Zandra and Lee, are very very friendly people, they would do anything for you, make you feel at home from the first time you meet them! They even took care of a welcoming package, so we had something to eat when we arrived! And the house (La Pèche) is so nice and cosy. It is brand new, everything was there. Especially the terrace with the red chairs is completely private for yourself, really nice to read a book in the shadow, eat outside on the terrace. And the pool and garden are so nice! There are more than enough umbrella's and trees to sit in the shadow on the sun beds. You have your own private parking space inside the enclosed garden and every Wednesday there's a big market in front of you doorsteps, really nice! There are a few nice cities about 50km away: Limoges, Périgueux, Brantome, Angoulême... This is a piece of paradise with wonderful people!

The accommodation was stylish, spacious and spotless! a gorgeous 2 bedroom gîte with a private outside space, all set within a beautiful large garden plot with a pool. The accommodation is positioned in the centre of village, but once inside their beautiful gates it’s totally quiet and private and spacious giving you the best of both worlds. Being located in the village allowed us to pop out to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine at the local establishments within 2 minutes! Also there is a great village market on Wednesday. The garden inside is tastefully landscaped and also provides onsite private parking. The gîte has everything required, washing machine, coffee machine,great shower, bright bathroom, comfy lounge and TV with access to Netflix & U Tube if you don’t watch French TV. Locally you can access beautiful nature walk (the rock) there’s a lake with man made beach. plenty of villages within easy drive. A supermarket 5 minutes away.

The property is lovely! There was just two of us but can accommodate a family of 5. Beautifully decorated and has everything thing you could need. The kitchen is also well stocked and has all the basics, seasoning, oils etc. Situated in a beautiful location, walking distance to supermarche, a couple of good restaurants, bars etc. We are in the middle of a move to France and our hosts could not have been more helpful. Gave advice, showed us around, and even hosted us a few evenings with good cheese and wine! We can’t wait to get back! Thank you Christine and Fred x
