An Amaizin stay at Villa Paignon! From the moment I arrived, the host's warm hospitality made me feel right at home. His genuine friendliness and readiness to assist with any queries were exceptional, setting the tone for a truly delightful experience. Nestled in a tranquil area, the location of the castle couldn't have been more perfect for those seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The beautiful renovations, thoughtfully adorned with modern touches, added a unique charm to the castle, creating an inviting and enchanting environment. The immaculately clean rooms and the exceptionally comfortable, large beds ensured a restful night's sleep. While I didn't have the chance to indulge in the magnificent elongated pool surrounded by olive trees, it provided an alluring backdrop, promising relaxation and tranquility. One of the highlights of my stay was the impressive breakfast served at Villa Paignon. The spread was generous and catered to every taste bud, offering a wide array of options, from savory to sweet. Freshly baked bread and croissants added a delightful touch, perfectly complementing the selection of ham and cheese. In conclusion, my experience at Villa Paignon surpassed all expectations, making it a truly unforgettable getaway. The combination of an accommodating host, serene location, and comfortable rooms created a harmonious ambiance that left a lasting impression on me. This is a charming B&B a short drive to Montbron centre. The facilities are fantastic, including the room, the breakfast, the pool, and the grounds. The hosts were so helpful! We spent a week there, visiting family in a nearby commune.

Ron was the perfect host - helpful and not intrusive. Accommodation was comfortable and well equipped for cooking. Set in relaxing surroundings. Safe parking for antique car. Close to boulangeries and supermarket. Meandering strolls locally. Perfect!

La Petite Fontaine is a lovely gite for two, although it looks very small from the outside photos it really is quite spacious inside with a big bathroom upstairs. The charming owners stayed up until past 10pm to welcome us as we were running late and they were mines of information about the local attractions. Being in a tiny rural hamlet it is very quiet and there are several countryside walks that can be started from the front door. The location is good being right on the Charente/Dordogne border and the little town of Montbron is just a 20minute walk away or 4 minutes by car for little shops and eateries. Montbron also has a well-stocked Intermarché hypermarket with a petrol station and car charging points. The towns of Brantôme en Perigord (in the Perigord/Limousin national park) and Jarnac (in the beautiful Cognac region) are worthy of note within an hour's drive.

We have visited this campsite for over 20 years and as a holiday destination it is always wonderful. Our cabin was excellent, a good size , very well equipped and clean. The campsite grounds are very spacious affording privacy and peace and quiet. They are very park like and offer safe places for children to play. The staff are lovely and very friendly, they made us feel really welcome. The swimming pool is large and very well maitained with comfortable seating around the pool offering good shade cover. There are waliking and cycling tracks you can do from the campsite and there is a lovely walk along the river by the campsite.
