This gite is in a very quiet village on the edge of the 'Suisse Normandy' district; perfect for walking, cycling, rock-climbing and watersports. The Wi-Fi at the gite was excellent, which we hadn't expected.

We had a great stay at Les Rocailles. In fact, we liked our stay last year so much that we came back this year :). Nathalie and her husband are very nice and welcoming people. Nothing was ever a problem, and they helped us a lot with recommendations about what to visit in the region. Personally, we love hiking and the Suisse Normande region is great for this, but also on rainy days (we had some), the place is ideally located to do cultural activities in e.g. Falaise or Caen. I can certainly recommend the dinners (Tables d'hôtes). Nathalie is a great cook and prepares her meals with a lot of care. We personally loved that she made us discover a lot of local products from the regions during both breakfast and dinner.

Very warm welcome from Annie who showed us the lovely accommodation and explained the workings of the coffee machine, remote controls for tv, etc. The accommodation was immaculately clean and spacious and comfortable. Annie has put a lot of work into gathering photos and souvenirs from the time that this accommodation and nearby houses were used by the weavers (Les Tisserands) both as their workshops and also living accommodation. Our accommodation was sensitively restored and beautifully decorated by Annie and Didier. Nice furnishings and a very comfortable bed. A really nice bathroom with a very good shower in a lovely and spacious shower cubicle. Rainwater is collected and used for the toilets and the shower water and hot water is heated by solar energy. Breakfast was substantial and delicious......many homemade jams, cake, pancakes, yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, etc.

The gite is very cozy and the propietaire super nice. She even gifted us a cidre bottle :-) The gite is well equipped and ideal for a family. There is a garden and the house full of toys and games. Definitely recommended even as a couple as we were. Also very close to numerous nature activities.
