I've never been in a more rustic environment than in Mendatica. It's the ideal retreat from busy city life! You can walk for days in the forests without encountering anyone, see lots of wildlife and starry skies. The cabin is big and very well maintained, and beautifully decorated. The kitchenette is well-equipped, with pans, pots and bialettis, an induction cooking plate, a fridge and an electric oven. The owner, Piero, is very helpful and friendly. Something to keep in mind: Mendatica is very small. Consider cooking yourself (nearest restaurant is 15 min by car) and visiting a supermarket before going up in the mountains. But there is also a very small shop in the village for some basic groceries (pasta, passata, canned foods,...)

We loved the place. Its in an amazing little village and offers everything you need for the perfect stay. We were sad to leave and already look forward to going again. The people are super friendly and helpful with places of interest and giving a history of the area. We loved every moment.

Rooms are newly refurbished, large, warm, with nicely sized bathrooms and very quiet. Staff (and other guests) are very friendly, restaurant is very good, as the breakfast is. Overall a very pleasant experience.
