“I stayed at Yamabo House for four nights while visiting my dad nearby. Noriko and Francois were wonderful hosts and have poured so much love into the restoration of this historic kominka. Beyond the beauty of the home, the surrounding area and view were breathtaking. The beds were very comfortable and I felt at ease to relax around the home or do my own thing. I highly recommend it. And everything was incredibly clean and updated"

This is an exceptional experience. The owner of KOMINKA guest house went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. He even went out of his way to pick me up from the train station and dropped me off as well the next day. He took me to his favorite onsen bathhouse. Afterwards He made me dinner and put on a performance with the many different instruments he plays. His english is very good and was able to communicate with me, who knows little to no japanese. If you are looking for a truly authentic mountain japanese experience, I urge you not to miss the opportunity to stay at the KOMINKA guest house while in Japan.

On a good day, there's a really nice view of the countryside. I really liked that it had everything that you need to cook, bbq, fireplace. Spacious and very relaxing. Best to stay after a trip through the Kurobe Alpine Route.
