We highly recommend Nena House. We are an older couple, but we can see why so many young people want to stay here as well. Given the small village location (a big bonus in our minds), we were more than pleased by the cleanliness and quality of the sustainable accommodations that should encourage, rather than deter you in this selection. Solar lighting, compostable toilet, very hot thermos water for bathing, unique style and artwork, quiet, many birds on the property, lovely outdoor garden eating areas, awesome ridge-top views, and a comfy bed. The sunrise was outstanding from the property hilltop. The traditional (yeah!) and property + local sourced food that we were served was delicious and bountiful - loved the French pastry touch at breakfast. Our hostess, Francesca, was more than kind and friendly; showing us her beautiful property with much due pride and accomplishment. Plus, your stay directly supports and benefits this small community. Last, who needs to go to hunt for a place to hike, when you can stay in this relaxing location and walk around to experience local culture right here? I could have stayed here many more days. Don't hesitate to stay here, despite the daunting task of finding. All the better to keep it a secret "special" spot. Other tips: 1) No Wifi at Nena House (another "yeah"). 2) Bring Francs only to pay for food/accommodations. 3) Make sure and request meals (other than breakfast) that you may want ahead - Melanie & Scott -
