Due to the Christmas holidays, the SPA was operating only until 6 p.m., so we asked to arrive about two hours earlier than the standard check-in time. Our request was noted in the reservation, and to our delight the room was already ready when we arrived. As a pleasant surprise, the room was located right next to the SPA entrance, which turned out to be incredibly convenient. The room itself was very cozy and thoughtfully designed. The bathroom was a real highlight, with a stylish glass wall, a sliding glass door on rails, and a curtain for privacy. The mattress and pillow were absolutely excellent: soft and comfortable, yet supportive at the same time. The moment my head touched the pillow, I instantly felt like sleeping—and I slept like a baby. Without a doubt, this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, if not the best. Its high rating is truly well deserved.

Tampere Maja offers accommodation in an 18th century wooden house in the heart of the Old Town of Tartu. There is a cultural club in the cellar, showing exhibitions of Estonian and Finnish art. Loved the building, very old with loads of original details. Our room had access to a shared kitchen and living space.

The Antonius is a luxurious boutique hotel in the heart of the old town of Tartu, directly opposite the main building of Tartu university. Tartu Town hall is 170 metres away. Excellent breakfast, lovely rooms and interiors.

It features a delightful sauna and a terrace, though the terrace sofa was wet after snowfall and couldn’t be used. Overall, a great stay with a few practical fixes needed.
