The hostel is clean, well maintained and has a great scenic view from the rooftop. The staff is warm and welcoming. My personal favourite were the evening activities organised by Deeya. She ensured we got access to some exclusive events inside Auroville including a pizza night at Youth Center, and a drumming circle at Dinesh restaurant. All in all, a relaxing and soothing stay with exciting new experiences!

We loved our stay at Kariappa House. The rooms were truly beautiful—tastefully decorated, spacious, and full of character, with wonderfully hot showers. The common areas were equally charming, and strolling around the quiet backstreets felt wonderfully authentic. Nestled near the sea, the location has a lovely village feel yet is still close enough to walk to White Town. We had initially worried about potential temple noise, but we didn’t hear anything. The staff went above and beyond, and Mr. Ramzy was especially delightful. We really appreciated all the information in the welcome package. Being away from the hustle and bustle in central Pondicherry made for a wonderfully relaxing weekend of touring, resting, and enjoying great food. Kariappa House’s beautiful garden and pool were perfect for retreating after a day of exploring. We will certainly be back!

Super buna asezarea, aproape de toate obiectivele importante ale orasului 🤍 Gazdele, Mehak si Anup sunt absolut minunati, mi-au facut experienta celor cateva zile sa fie una memorabila. Au fost foarte serviabili, foarte prietenosi, mi-au intermediat transferuri pentru transport, m-au ajutat sa obtin cartela locala, m-au adoptat pentru cateva zile si s-au ocupat de fiecare detaliu pentru ca eu sama bucur de tot. Trebuie sa mentionez faptul ca Mehak gateste extraordinar si ca am servit alaturi de ei un pranz delicios, si mai mult decat atat se pot ocupa si de celelalte mese daca se cere asta. Pentru mine un lucru e clar, Pondicherry va fi intotdeauna acasa datorita MelVille, si stiu ca pentru fiecare vizita viitoare acest loc este casa departe de casa.

Located 800 metres from TNSETC Bus Station and 2 km from Pondicherry Railway Station, Maison Perumal operates a 24-hour reception. Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the property. I can't rate Maison Perumal highly enough! The building is beautiful, and our room was wonderful, large, very comfortable, with black-out curtains, and facing into a quiet courtyard filled with plants. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and helped us to organise activities and trips. We participated in a cooking demonstration which was fantastic - and breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were delicious. Thank you!
