Extremely peaceful setting. The property was immaculately clean and the host had made it homely with little touches here and there. We were welcomed by the host, Irini, who was friendly and warm. She had made sure we had the shopping essentials already in the fridge and also surprised us with pizza and beer upon our arrival. Upon leaving the property, Irini and family greeted us to say goodbye and were so kind and thoughtful-thank you, Irini and family. A truly special first holiday as a family of 3 (we have a 4 month old baby). It was perfect.

The breakfast was incredible. There was so much choice, and the food was all really high quality. Moreover, the staff are all so polite, helpful and well-trained (some of the nicest hotel staff we've ever experienced). We were there for the hotel's last week of operation at the end of its 2024 season, so there was no dinner buffet. Instead, there was a set menu (but we could still order as much as we'd like from this), but this was still great quality. Our only wish would have been for it to include a few more traditional Greek dishes. The room was great. We were in a Verdant Room (slightly bigger than their standard rooms). We would thoroughly recommend it. The bed was super comfy and spacious, and the bathroom was great, too. The only thing that could improve it would be more hooks from which to hang clothes. The pools are amazing. We went in November, so it was a bit too chilly to swim in the outdoor pools, but the indoor pool was great - warm and relaxing but still big enough to do lengths. The gym was good - for anyone who knows how to be creative with their resistance training, the cable multi-gym they have still allows you to do a lot (this is coming from someone who has spent 10+ years working in the health & fitness space). The location is also great, as the hotel itself is very close to Rethymno (if you like walking, it takes about 40 minutes to get to the Old Town). If not, it's a 10-15 minute drive. Overall, it's a fantastic 5* hotel that we would recommend to anyone wanting to experience Crete in a bit of luxury. We will definitely return when we next visit Crete (which we will do, as there is so much to see!)

Amazing hotel, looks even better in real life than in the pictures :). It was cosier than we expected. We visited offseason (couple of days around New Year's Eve) and the room was warm, the bath in the living area was a great addition - very cosy and romantic. Delicious Greek breakfast every day. Staff was very attentive. Two minutes from the seaside. If we would visit Rhetymno again, this would be definitely our pick.

Casa di Gaga is indeed the perfect place to stay in the heart of old Rethymno. Mr Manolis and his wife are the kindest and friendliest hosts you can think of.
