Set in an 18th-century house full of historic charm, Hotel Rural Tia Pilar has a small outdoor swimming pool. This elegant hotel is ideally situated in the centre of the historic town of Almagro, La Mancha. The decor was lovely, lots of antique furniture. Patios were charming and beautifully decorated. The hosts were very kind and friendly, they even provided me with a fan to take home. Street parking was not difficult to find.

The space is so beautiful, very nice pool and surroundings, very quiet at night, we had the best sleep, the rooms were spacious, and the staff were so helpful, I posted it on my instagram and a lot of people asked where this it, highly recommended for a relaxing vacation!

The hotel is in the very center of the Old City, so everything most visitors would want to visit is within a short walking distance. The hotel is located on a side street and therefore it is quiet at night. But as a result of being in the heart of an ancient city, trust your GPS to get you there as the driving streets are complicated. Gema served a great breakfast and gave me excellent suggestions for both a traditional La Mancha Menu del Dia and during the evening, where to go for Tapas, a mere 5 minutes away.

Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a barbecue. We had been in touch with the host for the room so it was pretty easy to find. We rode the bus to the town and ended up having to walk up the hill so it might be a good idea to rent a car if you are staying here. There’s so much to see in the area that we ended up skipping. But the big area with the windmill tours is incredibly close and can easily be walked to. The fact that there’s a kitchen here was so exciting! We visited a local market to get our breakfast staples and got creative by making a soup for dinner. The wood stove and couch also proved for an incredibly cozy experience! Another unique part of this space is the private rooftop deck! You can even see windmills off in the distance. One quick note is that there are multiple units here. They are well separated and we never saw any other people. It was a little hard to notice this in the listing.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this resort. The place is on the small hill with an incredible view which is fantastic place for relax and recharge your energy. The highlight of this place is the horses are so beautiful and live freely in the area. Very friendly, well behave horses. During the stay you will be with the big dog very cute and friendly. There are also small cute 2 dogs that will always beside you. I can’t wait to be at this place again!
