Newly opened in April 2009 after extensive renovations, this 4-star hotel, first opened in 1906, is only 200 metres from Lake Bled and in the immediate vicinity of the train station. Amazing hotel with incredible views over Lake Bled. The staff were all super friendly, the included breakfast was delicious and you could order as much as you wanted which is great. The spa area was clean and never too busy. Room was comfortable, warm and the balcony (I had a lakeside) was perfect for sitting and taking in the beautiful surroundings. The hotel was situated on the other side of the lake to most amenities but as I only had a small rucksack with me it wasn't a problem for me to arrive via bus into Bled and take the 30 minutes walk around the lake to the hotel. The hotel is next to one of the train stations so I'd recommend arriving by train or taxi if you have larger bags, but for me the walk meant I got to explore more of Bled than perhaps I would have if I were staying nearer to the main tourism area. We had a truly wonderful stay! We were warmly welcomed with delicious local food and drinks, which made us feel right at home from the start.
