I regretted that we only stayed for 1 night 😢. Should have stayed for more nights !! Starting from the free shuttle bus from Taichung HSR Station , the friendly and approachable staff ,the huge, modern and clean room overlooking the lake , the room onsen and the hotel onsen and sauna, the restaurant ( Shao Chinese restaurant - the hotel is so kind to provide my daughter the complimentary ‘longevity peach ‘ for desert for her birthday ) and the location which is literally only 2 mins walk to the Ita Shao shopping street where you can grab all sorts of food and things . We love this hotel so much that we are already booking another trip next year to stay for a few nights !

Fleur De Chine Hotel is a stylish and Muslim-friendly hotel located at the North Peninsula of Sun Moon Lake. It offers spacious accommodation with a spa, an outdoor pool and free Wi-Fi. Better than 99 percent of 5 stars overseas with the same price range. Check-in started as soon as you hop on the free shuttle, where cool towel and tea are served. Couldn't afford to try the helicopter straight from the airport option, but it is on the table. Highly recommend Japanese style room, as I find it no difference in quality compare to ones in Japan. Great quality onsen with flexible opening time. Great Onsen bathtub in your room. Perfect buffet dinner and breakfast, even though I am not a buffet person, I did enjoy trying local cuisine from the buffet. Great activities for kids, to the point my little one woke me up at 7am. Free and fast shittle drop off to the port, where one of the best cycling trial starts.

The host, Mr Zheng, is extremely friendly and helpful, providing lots of advice for instance on visiting Sun Moon Lake which is a 25 minute bus ride away. The buildings themselves are modern, comfortable and clean, and set in a lovely garden. The location gives glorious views of the mountains and sunset. As well as a sumptuous breakfast, excellent dinners are available for a very reasonable price. This is welcome as the place is a 20 minute walk from the town centre down a hill.

Set in Yuchi in the Nantou County Region, 38 km from Taichung, Fuli Hot Spring Resort features a year-round outdoor pool and views of the mountains. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, clean, spacious room, excellent buffet selection for dinner and as we were running in the marathon, the hotel not only offered us a very good breakfast box as we had to leave before the breakfast service started but also agreed to extend our check out to give us time to have a shower and change afterwards. Highly recommended. Probably the best value for money stay in the Sun Moon Lake area too.
