Great hotel right next to the Millenium Express, fantastic amenities and large selection of incredibly tasty, fresh food for breakfast, lunch and dinner…loved that it was dog friendly, and had a garage and lovely spa area. However, what really set the stay apart for me was the kindness and friendliness of all the staff who went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs! Will visit again for sure

Such a beautiful setting with the convenience of being next to the lake. Relaxing treatment. Spa was spotless and very quiet. Restaurant great with healthy options and plenty of variety! Staff were efficient and very hard working. Staff in general were helpful and considerate of everyone’s needs. I always like a kettle in the room and my room was serviced daily which is appreciated.

The room was very spacious with a beautiful view of the lake. The breakfast was basic but sufficient, even with some gluten free options. The location was excellent, just by the lake, close to the main street, quiet. In 20min travel time you can get to many great sights and places.

A well looked after town centre, pleasing to the eye.

A well looked after town centre, pleasing to the eye. Plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. Cycling routes to lakes along the river, actually there are cycling routes to wherever you want to go. It is a starting point for any activity you enjoy doing: cycling, hiking or climbing up mountains, water sports, shopping, eating. And the weather, although you can't order it, is usually favourable.

Charming small medical city with close proximity to a...

Charming small medical city with close proximity to a beautiful lake and mountain walks. A good weekend venue and whilst the town is great to wander round it is small and worth thinking about driving into the hills, doing a bike ride or relax at a restaurant over looking the lake.

Velden is one of the most beautiful places I have visited in Austria or Europe. I drive there every year at least once for a weekend in summer. The restaurants and food options could get better, but the rest of everything is perfect

We caught the train from Pritswich to Portschach which was a...

We caught the train from Pritswich to Portschach which was a very short journey. Their timetables at the station/collection points are so easy to understand. Portschach is a very picturesque place. The houses looked very clean adorned with flowers, very tidy streets. People are very friendly and the majority spoke English. The food was delicious especially the cakes. There was a park area which took you down to the lake. Also a play area for children. We caught the ferry over to Maria Worth and then later, travelled by ferry to Velden.

It's easy to drive from there to the many lakes in Carinthia...

It's easy to drive from there to the many lakes in Carinthia, as well as to Klagenfurt, and the hosts provide an abundance of catalogs and brochures on what else there is to do in the region. But it's also an absolute pleasure to just stay home, sit outside by the pool and have a swim, or just relax indoors. We are self catering, so we did our own shopping, and supermarkets are within a few minutes drive. The kitchen is very well equipped so we could cook whatever we wanted to cook. We can't wait to go back! Truly!

We visited in December, over New Years.

We visited in December, over New Years. Seeboden is well located to reach lots of hiking trials after only a few mins car drive (or bus). The ski area Goldeck is also only 15-20mins away by car. Shops, hotels and restaurants are all in walking distance. The view from the lake shore is beautiful and calming. We ate most of the time in our hotel, Moserhof, because we liked their food a lot. Once we ventured out to Postwirt and again we liked it so much that we went back another time. Great food for decent money. And the service really surprised us in both places. Super friendly people who anticipate your next wish before you have voiced it, but all without being intrusive.

I might be biased, I was born in Spittal an der Drau, but...

I might be biased, I was born in Spittal an der Drau, but the town has certainly some charm on it's own. The renaissance Schloß Porcia, roman excavation in nearby Teurnia, the surrounding landscapes with lakes, mountains offering plenty opportunities for hiking, swimming and enjoyment of the local food specialties.

The staff was great and the room was very comfortable.

The staff was great and the room was very comfortable. Fast wi-fi and slippers and robe in the room. Parking was free and just outside the hotel. There is no elevator if you are on upper floors. Short walk to the abbey which is now an arts center and to the local beach although you could swim in the lake right from the hotel property.

We visited during April, and everything was still closed since it isn't the main tourist season. It was nice and quiet and peaceful, but it was impossible to buy groceries. The Faaker Lake was very nice, but surrounded by private beaches and not very well accessible. However, it is a very convenient starting point for trips

We went in the off-season.

We went in the off-season. We were probably the only tourists in the whole village. Very-very quiet and deserted. Just the way we were hoping to have it! So, if you want action, water sports - go in the summer. If you want winter action, parties - go right after Xmas. But if you want absolute relaxation, peace and quiet - go when we did, before Xmas.
