Very quiet and relaxing stay to disconnect from city life. Amazingly kind and professional staff at breakfast, bar and reception.
The bed was very comfortable and the room had an old charm to it. A country home away from home! The breakfast was served in the hotel next door, it was very good and plentiful even late in the morning. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night

We spent a few days at this hotel and enjoyed its tranquility and beauty, as well as its surroundings. The hotel is away from the noise of the city, perfect for getting some work done and relaxing. We stayed in a warm, very spacious, and spotlessly clean room. The whole facility is carefully maintained. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend it.

The owner was extremely attentive and welcoming. There was a ‘club’ room in which we could microwave some dinner and sit and eat in comfort with a lovely selection of Belgium beers. It was very comfortable and just what we needed after a long day’s cycling. There was a secure room for our bicycles and the swimming pool was amazing. Location was remote and quiet!

I liked the atmosphere of a small university town, with much green and large downtown pedestrian areas, including some restaurants, a market (on Tuesdays) and other conveniences. There are many trains to Louvain-la-Neuve from Brussels, it can however be a bit tricky to find your place unless you have access to street mapping, then it's easy.

Nivelles city is attractive and interesting but the hotel is quite a distance out of the town. It is advisable to eat in the town as currently there is no food available in the vicinity apart from brakfast at the hotel

The museum was excellent.
The museum was excellent. Exhibits very well presented - particularly the display of uniforms and models. Very informative and something for everyone whether a Waterloo expert or uninitiated. All parts of the battlefield and areas of interest well signposted. The panorama was exceptional as was the view from the Lion's Mound and definitely worth the climb. Take walking shoes.

Genval the staff at the railway station are superb.
Genval the staff at the railway station are superb. Overall the area about the lake could do with an improved footpath. Over by the Italian restaurant looked in need of modernisation. There was a restaurant which had closed but the place was overgrown dilapidated and took from what is a very nice scenic area surrounding the lake.

Waterloo was more than we expected.
Waterloo was more than we expected. Plenty of cafés, bars and restaurants. Public transport really easy and convenient for us.
We spent a day in Brussels, a day in Ghent and a day at Waterloo.
The museums and historic sites around Waterloo were fantastic. Some great pubs in Ghent near the castle . Waterloo brewery has a great restaurant.
The Dulle Griet pub in Ghent was a great experience .

This is a fabulous little town, more so because my daughter...
This is a fabulous little town, more so because my daughter and her husband live there in this wonderful village. And she had given us the name of this bed and breakfast and we stayed there and as I mentioned before, everything was just excellent.
