Fiesch is located very centrally in Uber Wallis.
Fiesch is located very centrally in Uber Wallis. The perfect base to organize your trips from. Locally you have the Cable car to Fiescher-Alp and Eggishorn. Several walks of 5 to 10 Km loops are passing in Fiesch. In less than a one-hour drive, you can reach the passes Grimsel, Furka, Simplon, and Gottart. Close by you can also find Binn which is a great spot for 1-day hikes on a higher altitude. Fiesch has all the shops you could need. Fuel and resto are a bit cheaper than in the big cities. I loved it!Guest review byHansBelgium - 10.0

We don't ski, and there might be better mountains for skiing, but this town was quintessential Swiss. Getting there was incredibly easy and Bettmeralp was absolutely darling. The views of the Alps are something we will never forget. Great mix of people, nice selection of restaurants, super winter walk over to Riederalp ... really enjoyed the town and our stay.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
- amazing views - great starting point for many hikes
- amazing views - great starting point for many hikes - range of restaurants - facilities for kids like a tennis and football pitch - 2 supermarkets (COOP is the least expensive one) - the fact that is is car free and you need to come up by cable cart is a big plus, as it really helps you transition into that holiday mindset - in the next village Bettmeralp there is a swimming lakeGuest review byJAJNetherlands - 6.0

Not sure what to make of Mörel....not much here i was there for the 2025 Aletsch Half-Marathon, Mörel is a little dated so don't expect much perhaps you should consider other very close options like BettermeralpGuest review byIanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Picturesque mountain village, some houses date from 1400’s.
Picturesque mountain village, some houses date from 1400’s. Spectacular hill walking, hiking. Good footpaths. Switzerland is expensive but this area is worth a visit. Easy access to Aletsch glacier for excellent ski ing. The cable car is a short drive, massive car park available or there is a regular bus serviceGuest review byFionaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

You can easily spend a few days, as this town offers hikin trails, and bike trails around the valleys. I was sorry to leave so quick. However, I visited top of the mountain to see the glacier, it is totally worth it and amazing.Guest review byDominykasLithuania - 10.0

One of the hidden gems of Swiss and hope it remains Hidden, so it doesn't become very commercial like other car free towns/villages of Swiss have. It doesnt even take ages to reach at such elevation with breathtaking views (can even see Matterhorn) is the deal breaker. It has lot of offer even for non skiers like sledge rides, variety of trail walks, the viewpoints for the largest glacier & enough hotels & apartment options for stay. Overall it makes a great base to explore the Great Valais, highly recommend !Guest review byCharmiDIndia - 10.0

Beautiful location within very short distance from very nice hiking paths and very close to the Aletsch glacier. I loved! The surroundings and scenery are breathtaking and make you feel grateful To the Universe for the opportunity to see them. We did go to Bettmeralp, which is incredible. Really worth to visit!Guest review byPaula ReginaSwitzerland - 8.0
Beautiful views, peaceful place with charming houses.
Beautiful views, peaceful place with charming houses. We took long walks around Ernen and in neighboring towns. We used car service from Lake Como to Ernen and did the same from Ernen to Interlaken. We had the most friendly and helpful staff at our hotel. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.Guest review byJefferyUnited States - 10.0
Bettmeralp was a fun place to visit for skiing.
Bettmeralp was a fun place to visit for skiing. Exceptional scenery. Food was a good standard although a bit pricey, similar to everywhere else in Switzerland. There are two good supermarkets in Bettmeralp if you want to cook in your apartment. Good experiences with equipment hire and ski lessons. Some places only spoke German so you'll want some German ability or rely on translator apps (which is what we did).Guest review byBen
