Excellent. Highly recommend to anyone who loves the mountains. Highest quality standards in everything. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. The staff speaks several languages. The view from our balcony to the north was enchanting. Mountains, goats, helicopters, paragliders, and sunrises. Quiet. No noise. Nothing disturbed our sleep. Excellent breakfast. Brilliant cheese list. Indeed, not every five-star hotel will have such quality breakfasts. Amazing heated pool, various saunas, hydromassage. Spacious, comfortable room. Cleaning every day. It is really useful to have a full mini kitchen where you can have a snack in the evening before going to bed. Central location. The hotel is a short walk from the train station, supermarket and other transport links to visit all the beauties of the resort. We were enchanted. Thank you to all the staff of Arca Solebad and Spa. This is the best place in Zermatt.

The hotel exceeded my expectations and was excellent in every way. The staff were great and able to help with specific requests that we had. The rooms were well equipped with quality linen and pillows. Our room had a Nespresso machine, and this was very welcome after our trip to Zermatt. We also enjoyed the access to the large and well-fitted sauna. The shuttle from the train station was on time and they delivered our luggage back to the station when we departed.

Zermatt is amazing! Hiking and the view are wonderful. Our thought of how it was going to be exceeded all expectations! The family did the helicopter tour, cable car to Glacier Paradise, hiking and dining is outstanding. We were blessed with great weather.

Excellent alternative to Zermatt, much cheaper but still...

Excellent alternative to Zermatt, much cheaper but still quality hotels. Very close to Zermatt, only 1 train station, about 12 minutes. Train arrives every 20 minutes. There is a supermarket open all days of the week. Place has great ammenities.

Brig was truly a hidden gem!

Brig was truly a hidden gem! We stayed at Hotel Victoria, directly across from the train station - which we loved. The main part of the city was really close and in walking distance. Great shops and resturants and gelato shops. They have a little train that goes around the city and gives you another perspective. It was perfect! There was a historic castle with tour. Unfortunately, the tour was in German, but we enjoyed it.

Sion is the capital of the Canton of Valais in southwestern...

Sion is the capital of the Canton of Valais in southwestern Switzerland. It's a city rich in history and serves as a gateway to the Alps, with easy access to popular ski resorts like Crans-Montana and Verbier, as well as a wide range of hiking trails. It is also well known for its wine. If you travel around this area, you will see a lot of vineyards. The city is charming, surrounded by mountains with old building still being occupied and nice cafés and restaurants everywhere. I love visiting the French-speaking parts of Switzerland for the delicious French food and pastries.

It's an amazing location in between the mountains, and the...

It's an amazing location in between the mountains, and the thermal pools are the best part of the trip. I can stay for weeks in Leukerbad. You can enjoy the Alps without climbing using the Gemmi Bahn and treat yourself to Rosti or Swiss foods on top of the Gemmi and order the best wines of the region.

It is the Swiss equivalent of an English county town - it has a direct railway connection to Geneva Airport (wonderful views of the mountains and the lake from the train) - it sits where 3 spectacular valleys meet close to several top ski resorts - I found a good restaurant for dinner

Very beautiful area with shops & restaurants within walking distance of the hotel we stayed in (elite). Bus trip up into the mountain villages was excellent & very reasonable priced. Lots of nice restaurants in Visp. Local wines worth a try.

Lovely place & a beautiful setting, however I would plan ahead what you would like to do, hire a car and remember that everything closes on a Sunday - shops, leisure facilities etc. I think 2-3 days in and around Sierre is ideal - I would recommend also visiting Sion. In Sierre itself I would recommend wine tasting and visiting the underground lake. The urban areas are nice, especially in Sion (basilica and chateaux, which characterful centre), but the outdoors is the true merit of this region.

Amazing ski town.

Amazing ski town. It is small enough to make it special and large enough to cater all ski needs. I booked ski lessons. It's ski school just turned 100 years old and it is one of the most reputable ones around the area. I got a fantastic experience with one of the instructors and can't wait to be back!

If you get a clear sunny day, it is fantastic with a trip up the mountain. Also check out Kirchebridge for great views of the Matter horn. Free bus services were great for getting around, and the main part of town is all walkable. And don't miss old town to see really old wooden homes. And for shoppers there is the Bahnstrasse with many shops and eateries. The only downside was that Many restaurants and shops were closed , with NO notices on the internet, no sign in windows and no notice given to the information center.
